Wisconsin high school juniors and seniors can now apply for the 2027 Senate Scholar Program.

The week-long program in Madison allows students to take part in the legislative process, including drafting their own bills and amendments, participating in a mock committee hearing, and staffing a Senate floor session.

One student from each of Wisconsin’s 33 Senate districts will be selected.

Applications are due November 6, 2026.

I had a great time at the Bellin Health Foundation’s Black Tie & Blue Jean event at Lambeau Field.

This year’s event raised funds for hands-on education and training for nurses and other frontline health care workers.

Thank you to the Bellin Health Foundation for supporting the health care professionals who care for our community.

I was glad to attend the Women’s Fund of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation’s event this week.

Since 1995, the Women’s Fund has supported more than 240 local initiatives and provided more than $1.89 million in grants to nonprofits supporting women and girls.

I appreciated learning more about their work and hearing from keynote speaker Alana Nichols, a Paralympic gold medalist!

It was a great weekend!

I attended the Annual Meet Your First Responders event at St. Norbert College, followed by the Green Knights men’s soccer game against Lawrence University.

I also enjoyed All Bands on Deck in the Shipyard District.

Happy 96th Birthday to my Aunt Dolores Farrell!

Today, we remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders who showed extraordinary courage.

We will never forget.

I enjoyed joining the Green Bay Elks Lodge #259 for Soup for Vets last night.

This monthly dinner brings veterans, first responders, and their families together for a meal.

Yesterday, I joined State Representative Ryan Spaude, State Representative Deb Andraca, and Senator Chris Larson for a demonstration of ignition interlock devices.

We saw how these devices work and heard from local law enforcement and other advocates about their role in preventing impaired driving.

Wisconsin's roads should be safe for everyone.
