One of several recent projects. Very rough garage space converted into extra living space.

Much improved from the builders "utility" stairs. Balustrade will be rope and black dock cleats, installed after the painters have completed their magic!!

One more of the garage upgrade. Foundation walls hidden behind rough saw primed pine and trimmed out simply for a nice clean look

Week One Done

Taking advantage of high ceilings to create storage, and make it nice to look at too!!

This beautiful solid piece of black walnut was cut down by my customers husband before he passed away. New England Joinery in Essex cut and "dressed" it, creating the corbels from the same piece. A blacksmith in Minnesota hammered the steel straps and made huge, cut nails to hold them down. It took four people to place this monster, creating a great memorial, and focal point to her home.

Clean work...

Replaced the old damaged casement windows in this Fenwick,
Old Saybrook, home. Interior beaded trim is next. Protecting the black walnut desk top is a priority!!

...and a walk through for good measure...

Bookshelf cabinet install is complete! I don't often get to see the final product, as painters, plumbers, etc. always come after me. This project I saw through to the end, finishing the trim to match the antique oak wall boards.

First Period home (1680). This is the upstairs hall.

The new library is almost complete

Prefinished Maple bookshelves. 8 more to go!!

Covered popcorn ceiling with new sheetrock, removed built in vanity and oversized linen closet to open up this claustrophobic bathroom. This one's on a tight budget, so making use of reclaimed and 2nd hand materials to finish

Hired a new assistant yesterday. A hard worker, but a bit intense...

Removed a skylight, replaced all the screen and replaced the screen door. This family is ready for Labor Day!!

Now, its the painters turn!

Progress is good!!

In the midst of a bathroom/hall entry renovation. Uncoupling membrane will keep this slate tile from cracking. Custom poplar beadboard and maple bench will be installed on wall in entry. Stay tuned!!

On its way!!

There's some rot under that yellow siding, so replacing everything with solid cedar, including most of the trim.
Then maybe we can talk about the garage!! Yikes!!!

Cool little shed. These people are serious about their garden!!

Today's project: New cedar french doors on this super cool garden shed!!

Window boxes with custom brackets installed for a beautiful finished look!!

Siding is complete! Window boxes and new custom brackets will complete the upgrades to this beautiful house in Fenwick, Old Saybrook.

Yesterday's view from the staging, was much preferred to todays view from the ladder!!

Made seven of these solid cedar window box brackets today...and what a beautiful day!!

Latest project underway! New red cedar shingles

Built a new home for the beer fridge and the keg at this summer house in Fenwick, Old Saybrook. Gotta love the tap!!!

Landscaper installed this gate I built to mirror the porch railing on a house in Fenwick.
