Two things worth celebrating today.

First: Happy . June 19, 1865 - the day enslaved people in Texas learned they were free. Today we honor that history and the ongoing work of Black freedom and liberation. OPEN Foundation stands in solidarity with the Black community and recognizes that LGBTQIA+ liberation is deeply intertwined with racial justice.

And tonight: we will be at the Big Gay Pride Market. All weekend -- June 19 through 21. Come find our table, say hello, and let us talk about what OPEN can be for you.

June 12, 2016. Forty-nine people went to Pulse nightclub in Orlando and did not come home.

We remember them today. We remember that LGBTQIA+ spaces – spaces built for joy and safety – were targeted because of who the people inside them loved and how they lived.

That weight is real. So is the resilience of a community that keeps showing up, keeps building, keeps celebrating and grieving and fighting – often all at once.
