We mean it when we say “We’ve Got You Covered”!

My dear friends in Wisconsin, Arizona, and North Dakota-

Today marks the end of my journey in TV news. It’s been a wild and incredible ride over the last 12 years, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

This was not an easy decision. Leaving a career that has been such a huge part of my life—one that has shaped me in so many ways—was one of the toughest choices I’ve ever had to make. But as difficult as it is to say goodbye, I know it’s the right time for a new chapter.

This career has been more than just a job—it’s been a constant through some of the biggest moments of my life. When I lost my dad, the newsroom gave me purpose and a sense of home. When I met my partner, Joe, it was a reminder that everything happens for a reason, and that the best things in life often happen when you least expect them.

I’m beyond grateful for every early morning, every breaking news moment, and every story that brought me into your homes. This isn’t a career for the faint of heart, but your support and encouragement from day one have meant everything to me.

I’m also deeply thankful for the talented, hardworking, and kind people I’ve had the privilege of working alongside. The friendships, the laughter, and the lessons I’ve learned will stay with me forever.

I’m not leaving Madison anytime soon, and I’m so excited for what’s next. I’ve accepted a position with the American Heart Association, where I’ll continue working to make a difference in people’s lives.

And because I’m a little (very) sentimental, I figured I’d bring things full circle. Today I’m wearing the same tie I wore in my very first broadcast—just a little reminder of where it all began.

So from my first day to my last… thank you for welcoming me into your homes.

I’ll see you out there,

Mark ❤️

This is a tough one to share, but I couldn’t be happier for Rebecca and her family. Help me send her off as she gets ready for this new adventure! ❤️❤️❤️

THANK YOU, WISCONSIN!
For almost 11 years, I’ve had the honor of living out a dream as a news reporter and anchor in Wisconsin. And what an incredible ride it has been!

I’ve learned from many talented people along the way and reported on everything from historic flooding and a global pandemic to American Idol auditions and Groundhog Day.

I have loved this career. But now, my heart is pulling me toward a new chapter—one where I focus on my family and give them the best of me.

While this is goodbye to my job at WKOW, it’s not goodbye to southern Wisconsin. This is home. And now I’ll get to experience it in a different way while being more present and healthy for my family.

Thank you for letting me be part of your mornings and share your stories. It’s been the honor of a lifetime.
