As always, our trip to the ARBA National Convention was fun, exhausting, and too short! No big-time wins this year, but we were happy to be in the top half of most classes (including six top-tens!) with only two of our rabbits failing to place. A few went home with other folks, to various places around the country, and we send our best wishes along with them!

We're at the ARBA Convention this week! We even got in a little ice skating today at the rink next door. We do have a few Havanas and Polish here that could maybe go home with you instead of us, let us know if you want to check them out!

Brought a few Havanas and no other breeds (kids busy with homecoming) to the Friday night breast cancer research benefit show in Fond du Lac, and won Best of Breed. There's a double show there today, but we are in Portage instead for the WI International Poultry Club show and the Call Duck national. Dot has 21 call ducks entered, wish her luck!

πŸ†BEST IN SHOWπŸ†

Last Saturday was the Wisconsin State RBA annual State Convention show. Dorothy's day started early with youth contests before the show even started! Youth Polish showed later in the morning, and her broken senior buck was awarded Best Of Breed, but the fun didn't stop there. After a few hours of hanging out with friends and volunteering at the raffle table, the time finally came for all the BOB winners to compete for Best 6 Class (large breeds) and Best 4 Class (small breeds), and her Polish was chosen Best 4 Class, then ***Best In Show***, so the top prize came home with us! BOV/BOB/B4C/BIS Broken Chocolate Senior Buck, GC Dot's Hot Chocolate (HOTCOCO)

She got to ride her high well into the evening at the annual banquet, where she was announced as the youth show winner and also learned the youth contest results: she made both the Breed ID and Judging teams for her age group (senior), so she'll once again represent WI at the National Convention (this year in Indianapolis in November).

Brought only one Havana to the Between the Lakes RC show yesterday, and he earned BOS in both shows! Of course it's that lilac buck again, GC Timothy's Rodney Dangerfield (WE3). His coat and color are slipping with all the humidity we've been having lately, but the competition has that problem, too, so he's still competitive. Round Da Bend Rabbitry won both BOB awards with a lovely broken senior doe.

Rodney's sister sat this one out as she's due to have a litter this week, but a Mini Rex with her same name (Olive Oyl) won BIS! Congrats to S&S Carrot Patch Rabbitry! That had nothing to do with us, but I'm going to pretend it did just because of the name coincidence, LOL. Our Olive Oyl got an honorable mention at the BIS table at her last show, so let's say the name carried momentum into this one ;-)

I had Rodney posed perfectly on the photo table but he would only hold still so long as I kept a finger scratching his face...I opted to give you two "action shots" rather than a picture with my hand in it. Enjoy!

It was another fun, hot weekend in Galesville for the annual Friendly Rabbit Club shows. Dorothy didn't want to bother with pictures but her Polish did well, winning several BOV/BOSV and a BOS for Dot's Hot Chocolate (HOTCOCO), a broken chocolate sr. buck.

The cream of our Havana crop this spring has been these two lilacs from the same litter. The buck has been outshining his sister lately because she went into a molt that took her out of consideration the last couple show weekends, but she's back in coat now and took two Best of Breeds this weekend! Her brother was BOS three times. He didn't want to sit still for a photo after the long weekend, he wanted to check out the bouquet of cash he earned in the Saturday evening specialty show...

Today at the Northwoods Rabbit Club show in Wausau, WI, the top prize in open show B went to our lilac Havana senior buck, Rodney!

In youth Polish, Dot won several BOV/BOSV. It was a great day!

We couldn't attend Spring Fling in Fond du Lac last weekend, but did send four Havanas with a friend. Lilac senior buck Timothy's Rodney Dangerfield (WE3) finished his Grand Championship with a BOB win! Meanwhile, across the state in Galesville, we were showing poultry and won Reserve Champion Call Duck in open and Reserve Champion Bantam Duck in junior, with a pastel drake.

It was a beautiful weekend in Weyauwega for the Happy Hoppers show! Highlights for us were three Best Opposite S*x wins (some rabbits are better at holding still for photos than others, lol).

Youth Polish:

BOS Show C, Black Senior Buck Dot's Pippin (PIPPIN)

Open Havana:

Sometimes a missed breeding can be a blessing. This doe had 2 jr legs and is *supposed* to be retired from showing, raising a litter right now. But she didn't take, and looked kinda nice this morning, so off she went to the Lakeland Rabbit Breeders show where a BOS win completed her Grand Championship! She has a date tonight, let's hope it's successful this time 😁

At the Between the Lakes Rabbit Club show last weekend, Dot was happy to win a few classes plus BOV Blue in the first show with a current favorite, Milly. In the second show, Milly won her variety again and was chosen Best Of Breed!

Youth Polish:
Best Of Variety in show A and BEST OF BREED in show B, Blue Senior Doe Dot's Milly (MILLY)
