The end of peach season has come🍑
I made a big batch of my famous peach preserves and canned it in these adorable little 1.5 oz. jars. They’re out on the Farmstand!

I took most of August off from my professional commitments to make sure our kids got off to a good start and routine for the school year. The first day of September saw me teaching a room full of the nicest people you’ll ever meet how to make peach preserves. Once the cutting began, the room was filled with the aroma of sweet Isom's Orchard peaches and everyone was in heaven. I surprised them by pulling half a gallon of homemade vanilla ice cream out of the freezer and spooned some of their hot peaches over it for them to eat. Suddenly, the room fell quiet except for the occasional lip smack and bowl scrape. I filled the Farmstand with the leftover peaches today. Dice them and heat over medium high heat with sugar (usually 2:1 peaches:sugar in terms of volume). Stir constantly and when the fruit is soft and nearly translucent, pour it over vanilla ice cream. So good!

Fresh pepperoni rolls out for an afternoon snack! These are a WV classic, invented by Italian-American coal miners’ wives as a portable meal to send underground with their husbands and sons. Enjoy!

The Farmstand is loaded with homemade s’mores cupcakes this morning! If you watched my stories over at you saw me toasting the marshmallows on top. I used homemade marshmallows instead of store bought, and so I’m not 100% how solid they’ll stay in this heat! Things might get messy, but they’re still delicious! That’s the nature of s’mores, am I right?? The chocolate cupcakes have a Graham cracker core and are so yummy! Stop by and grab some! There’s fresh water in the vases for your garden bouquets as well!

For this week’s Farmstand Friday, we put out “family reunion cookies”. They are peanut butter cookies that first had as a little girl at a family reunion. Now I take them to my own family reunions. Enjoy!

Today the Farmstand is loaded with chocolate chip cookies! The recipe called for an entire bag of milk chocolate chips. Chocolate lovers, this one’s for you!

Farmstand Friday moved to Wednesday! I hopped over to my very favorite place, to supplement the Farmstand for a photo shoot with a couple of local publications this morning. Now that the pretties have been documented, I’d love for you to come and “shop” the loaded stand. There are baskets for your convenience. Grab some fruits, veggies, and a bouquet or two. Hurry, they won’t last long in this heat (or with my hungry neighbors)! Of course, there are chocolate chip cookies out there too.

Homemade blueberry muffins this morning!

This morning, in celebration of the first full month of summer vacation, the kids and I filled the empty jars on the Farmstand with a homemade bubble solution for . One jar has a “winner!” designation under the lid and the lucky recipient will get a surprise from ! I hear giggles and squeals coming from my back yard right now because I filled the kids’ bubble buckets with some solution. So get out there and blow some bubbles!

This morning’s finds us giving away extra little seedlings we started. These are young 4 o’clock plants that will have the most vibrant yellow and pink blooms. I got the seeds from my mom, who got them from her mom’s flowers, who, you guessed it, got them from her own mom’s flowers. Quite the heirloom!
