Been awhile since I’ve posted. Kinda got the COVID blues. Not the virus. Just the blues. This past weekend was crazy One that covered 2700 miles in three days. One that had many firsts for me. I’ve driven from Texas to Maryland before. Just not alone. My daughter needed her 🚗. So Daddy volunteered to drive it to her. I stayed in my first Airbnb and ordered my first DoorDash. I ran a mile in Chattanooga Tennessee. That was a first. I also got a mile in in Maryland. But I’ve done that before. What was a first was I hit a milestone with that run 😀RSD 900😀. Now I got to get home! Found me cheap flight. That was a first. $37 Baltimore to DFW. After boarding the plane the flight was postponed for 6 hrs due to a bad panel on the ✈️ Glad 😬they found before we took off. That was a first and I hope it’s the last. I was able to get on standby for the next flight out. So I didn’t have to wait but 2 hours. Anyway it was fun. I think I could get used to road trips and finding unique places to run.

2 years 2 months 8 days = 800 days. Yet another milestone in this run streak journey. Ran across this sign reminding me to Slow Down. Pretty sure it wasn’t for my benefit as I ran my first 2 miles at an aerobic pace HR @ 120. I blazed passed this sign at a whopping 14:00 pace. My next two I bumped up to threshold HR @135 and cruised home 12:22 pace.

RSD 798. Everything just felt good tonight. 4.25 easy sunset miles to finish off the day. The humidity was a little high but the steady breeze kept it feeling oh so good. Watching the sun go down kept my mind clear and my thoughts focused. What a great evening it was. Too many pics to post. Good night all. @ Mabank, Texas

Our Sunday Runday is growing. 3 old men running. All of us are 60 plus. Can we make it 4?

Early 5 miles with Lester. It never gets easy. The road is always hard and the conditions are never really perfect. But we can always hope for that day when everything falls into place and peace abounds.

Lately I’ve struggled with a lot of things. Most days I drag myself to the treadmill and slog out a mile just to say I did it. I don’t keep up with my stats or my miles. I just make sure I run everyday. I know the motivation will come back and I’ll be ready when it does. Numbers are a funny thing. Today I looked at my running log for the first time in a couple of months. I saw a figure of 5998.4 total miles logged. My thought for today was to run 4 or 5 miles at an easy pace. But just like when you look at your watch and your 3 tenths from reaching that next mile. You’ll run circles around the car just to get an even number. Well that what I did... kinda. 1.6 easy miles on my trusty park path that I love to run so I could CELEBRATE 6000 miles!!!!

The warm weather is such a welcome friend. Spring is here but it doesn’t feel right. No kids playing soccer or baseball at the park. Although there were more people than usual on the trail. For that I’m thankful. I just miss the sound of children playing those games. For a free country I’m not feeling very free. New shelter in place orders issued everyday all around me. Stupid Virus 🦠. We will overcome. I respect this virus but I do not fear it. It may come but I’m ready! RSD 750 😷

RSD 747!! Sounds like a jet😃. So tired of all this 🦠 stuff. Everyone keep your distance and wash those hands. This social distance thing is easy. Just go for a run. Staying 6 ft. apart is no problem. On this 61/2 miler I only saw 2 other runners and 1 walker. We all respected each other’s personal space and passed on the opposite side of the road. Since the gym is closed all runs will have to outside.
