Becoming Elevated

Elevated Community Development Corporation is a community-based 501c3 non-profit organization. Headquartered in Lynwood, CA, Elevated offers community services to the historic Gateway Region of Greater Los Angeles. Our areas of focus include Lynwood, Long Beach, Compton, Watts, South Gate, and Downey.

The vision of ECDC began in 1994 under the name of Get-A-Lift, an effort founded by Bishop Carl W. Stewart. As pastor of Greater Emmanuel Temple (GET), Bishop Stewart was dedicated to providing community support as an extension of the church’s outreach. In 2018, the organization was renamed with an expanded mission under the leadership of Nisan Stewart, who currently serves as pastor of GET.

With a newly renovated facility and restructuring of the organization, ECDC is now relaunching as a holistic community services and development organization. Initiatives include Youth Development, Health and Wellness, Music Education and Technology, as well as Career and College Exploration. We aim to service residents, businesses and owners at all stages of life.

We are dedicated to building sustainable solutions and transforming our communities into thriving cultural centers. Together we will rewrite the stories of the underserved.
