Fasting for Victory: What God Can and Will Do
Today's Read: Psalm 90
Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
We are already through January 2025! Time seems to slip away and move too fast at times. One of the most important things we must do is measure time properly. The best way to do this is by setting goals. What do you want to achieve this year? Don't let this year end with little to no results. I have set some goals for myself: To read a certain number of spiritual and leadership books. To read the NLT bible this year. I've set personal, financial, and spiritual goals and am in prayer for these goals. What do you want God to do through you and for you this year? How do you want God to use you this year? Write it down and pray on it. This is a proactive approach and helps us to navigate through life without us constantly being reactive. Let's gain a heart of wisdom. Don't let time slip away from you and let's pray today for attainable goals that God can and will work through in us!

Today's fast is to pray for one another.
James 5:13-16 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

We grow together as brothers and sisters in Christ, seeking a common vision to see God’s Kingdom come. As a Church, we experience much of our Christian walk together. This is why it is important that we not have separation in the church, but unity. We cannot possibly live for God on our own or separate, but need every member to properly mature as Christians.

The power of a church is when each member works together, helps each other, grows together, and functions as one. This is why it is important to pray for one another. Each of us have issues that we need God to intervene individually. As we come together, help and pray for each other. Through unity God moves on our behalf!

Fasting Ought to Change You
Today's Read: Isaiah 58
When we fast, we are not just doing a religious ritual. We must understand the importance of prayer and fasting. Many times, we enter fasting because we want God to help us in various ways. It is having God help us where we cannot help ourselves. When Jesus healed the epileptic boy, He mentions that such deliverance comes through "prayer and fasting"(Matt 17:21).
The amazing thing about fasting is that it shows you who you are. When you come before God, He may be able to change your situation, but He many times seeks to change you! What are the things that He seeks from you? What does He want to speak to you? This fast, ask God to examine you and point out things that need to change. Who knows, by changing ourselves, we might change our situation!

We enjoyed a wonderful time yesterday. We handed out approx 300 toys to our community. Shout to our church members who helped with everything. Our church kids who put on a performance. Also a huge thanks to Rita Soto, City of Lynwood, CA - Government, Director Sergio Calderon, , WRD, Cameron Quiles, U.S. Bank,LA County Sheriff's Department, Isaac Galvan, as well as many others who donated to make this event great.
