Forty business districts throughout Nassau and Suffolk and more than sixty development projects are being stalled because of a natural gas moratorium as New York State waits to approve the Northeast Supply Enhancement project. Local businesses cannot open after investing hundreds of thousands of dollars to build.

This morning I stood with Lynbrook Mayor Alan Beach and his board, Legislator C William Gaylor, Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce members, local business advocates and Eric Alexander from Vision Long Island to call on NYS to help end this moratorium and give local business owners the opportunity to serve their communities. Local business is the lifeblood of the Town of Hempstead - blood that must flow freely. This halt of natural gas has placed a tourniquet on owners, the lifeblood - crippling their potential at success.
