Great news! The Small Cities CDBG program has approved Hammonton to receive a $400,000 award from the Small Cities CDBG program! This award will provide funds to improve ADA-Compliance features at the recreation facilities at Hammonton Lake Park.
Ever since President Joe Biden took office, he signed a series of executive orders halting new oil and natural gas leases, canceling the Keystone Pipeline and generally signaling to the nation that the U.S. is anti-natural gas and oil.
President Biden needs to look in the mirror on rising gas prices. Here's why | Opinion If we want to enjoy a summer of leisure, we need a president willing to flex his muscles on the gas crisis.
I had a great time at the Regional Economic Perspective hosted by the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey and Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Thank you for setting up this great event!

Happy Women's History Month!
During the month of March, we celebrate the contributions and achievements of women around the world from the past and present.
Don’t let anyone tell you that you have to choose between low gas prices and supporting Ukraine in the heinous war started by Russia. It’s a convenient argument used by an administration that has done nothing but signal its anti-natural gas position.
It’s more important than ever that we promote workforce opportunities for young people that pay well and don’t require a four-year college degree. This bill will bring government into the ongoing industry dialogue and help promote trucking as a viable career path for New Jerseyans from all walks of life.

Employers shouldn't have to worry that a determination made by a Labor officer in a state department will come back to hurt them in a court case. This is a simple fix but an important one. When a business is seeking advice on how to follow a law, they're taking the appropriate steps to try and be a responsible community partner. Let's meet them halfway and give them the support they need.

I attended the Burlington County Police Chiefs Association annual installation dinner last Friday!
Thank you to all of Burlington County's law enforcement officers for keeping Burlington County safe. I will always support the men and women in blue!
Yesterday in my Special Committee on Infrastructure, I voted no on a measure that would incentivize towns to create a “Rain Tax” on businesses and residents. The last thing we need right now is another creative new tax in New Jersey. I’m in full support of clean water, but we’ve been able to advance clean-water initiatives without saddling the people with another tax.
Streamlining the CDL process for qualified military drivers just makes sense – not only to motor carriers looking to offer opportunities for veterans, but to military members making their transition to civilian life in a good-paying career. This proposal would allow our military veterans to bypass the mind-numbing wait times at Motor Vehicles, without compromising our federally-recognized safety and training standards for new truck drivers.

It's a disgrace. Governor Murphy should be embarrassed. It's been two years since the beginning of Covid-19, yet he has done nothing to address the unemployment backlog. It's long past due to put an end to these pandemic-era measures. State workers need to return to offices.
Senate unanimously passes Scutari resolution demanding governor address unemployment backlog - New Jersey Globe The State Senate today unanimously approved a resolution by Senate President Nicholas Scutari and State Sen. Fred Madden (D-Washington) calling on Gov.

As a native Hammontonian, I’m pleased to see the state make this welcome investment to promote transportation alternatives like walking and biking in our community. This town’s greenery and open spaces are some of its greatest assets, and I’m pleased those of us in state government are doing our part to make sure they remain safe and accessible to pedestrians. These state grant funds will ease the burden on municipal taxpayers as we develop infrastructure that promotes greater safety and quality-of-life for the biking community.
$1M in grants for the town Last week, Governor Phil Murphy announced more than $1 million in grants for the town of Hammonton.
The redistricting compromise was a great moment for the people of this state and the 8th District. I’m excited to bring more of Atlantic County and the Pine Barrens into the 8th District, which coincides with the blue-collar, open space, and farming culture the residents already possess.

Vladimir Putin is a thug and a tyrant. His unprovoked land grab threatens freedom and democracy around the world. It is critical that the United States stands strong with Ukraine and imposes maximum sanctions on Russia’s economy for Putin's lawless invasion. Please pray for the people of Ukraine.

It's no secret it has become increasingly difficult to recruit volunteer EMTs and firefighters. Much more needs to be done to support our volunteers, and I pledge to continue to work to help them.
In the meantime, my three-bill package focuses on increasing volunteer recruitment for fire departments and rescue squads and providing federal stimulus money to help firefighters and EMTs.
Today, we honor all those who served in the office of president of the United States. Happy Presidents Day! 🇺🇸

Once a month, I’ll be giving all of you a bird’s eye view of what I’m seeing in Trenton and what I’m working on to make the state a better place for all of us. That’s what you can expect out of this column. It will be an honest, first-person perspective through my eyes.
You can expect anything from an in-depth, technical conversation on legislation I’m pushing to bring financial help to farmers or a more open-ended conversation on the importance of getting back on a track to normalcy in the Covid-era.
Perspective: Torrissi in Trenton It always impresses me how serious the residents of this town take their civic duty to get out and vote.
