Happy Mother’s Day from Rooted through Nature 🌿

Today we celebrate every kind of mother — the nurturing hearts, the gentle hands, the protectors, the teachers, the comforters, and the women who help little souls grow strong and wild like nature intended.

Thank you for the endless love you pour into your children, even on the hard days when no one else sees the sacrifices you make. Your patience, strength, warmth, and resilience leave roots that will last a lifetime.

May today remind you that you are appreciated, valued, and deeply loved for all that you do.

Wishing all the mothers a beautiful day filled with peace, love, and little moments that make your heart smile. 🌸

We had the most amazing experience at Dakins Youth Veterinarian Day! 🐾🩺

The kids got an incredible hands-on look into what it takes to become a veterinarian and all the important work vets do every single day. They learned about sutures, bandaging injuries, microchipping animals, intake forms, fostering, and TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) programs and that was only the beginning!

It was such a meaningful opportunity for the children to explore animal care, compassion, responsibility, and the many different ways veterinarians help both pets and communities. The staff were so knowledgeable, patient, and engaging, making every activity exciting and easy for the kids to understand.

You could truly see the curiosity and passion spark in so many of them today. We are beyond grateful for the time, effort, and heart that went into creating such an educational and unforgettable experience for our group. Thank you for inspiring the next generation of animal advocates and caregivers! 🐶🐱💙

🧈 Butter-Making Day at RTN! 🍯✨

Today our learners got to shake things up—literally! We made our very own butter from scratch, and the kids absolutely loved it.

What started as a simple jar of heavy cream quickly turned into a full-body workout filled with giggles, teamwork, and a whole lot of shaking. The best part? Watching their faces light up when the cream finally separated and real butter appeared inside the jar. Pure magic!

Along the way, we talked about:
🐄 How butter was made before machines existed
💪 Why patience, effort, and curiosity can turn something small into something amazing

Each child got to taste their fresh, homemade butter! Moments like these remind us why hands-on learning is so powerful. Kids remember what they create, what they feel, and what they experience.

As always, stay rooted. 🌱💛

Today we had to say an unexpected and heartbreaking goodbye to our sweet bunny, Shadow.

If you don’t know his story, Shadow came into our lives a year and a half ago after being abandoned at Szot Park. He was very sick when we found him, but with a lot of love, vet visits, and research, we were able to nurse him back to health.

He quickly became a cherished part of our family. In the short time we got to call him ours, he brought us joy, gentleness, and comfort. I hope he felt the same love we felt for him every day and I hope he had a good life here.

We love you, Shad Shad. 🐇🖤
I hope you're hopping around heaven with Zeus and all our other loved ones.
Thank you for letting us love you.

Teaching children goes far beyond textbooks and the short 12 years of school—they need lessons that shape their mindset for life. When we give them tools to think, question, and grow with love and curiosity, we prepare them not just for tests, but for a lifelong journey of learning. What we pour into them now becomes the wisdom they carry forever.

From washing apples to stirring the pot — our young chefs are learning that good things take time (and teamwork)! 🍎✨
Never too young to cook, create, and make a little mess in the kitchen! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

🎨✨ Marker Press Magic! ✨🎨
We had so much fun making creative marker press art! The kids loved watching how their colors blended and transferred into beautiful surprise designs. It’s like magic you can make with your own hands! 🌈💫

Art is such a wonderful way to explore cause and effect, mix colors, and let imaginations run wild. Who knew a few markers, water, and paper could bring out so many smiles? 💕
