LOUNGE CLOSING DOORS

It has come time for Know a Guy Cigar Lounge to close its doors. We are unable to provide a level of service, we believe the members deserve.

We will be having a "First Ever Knew a Guy Party" to say goodbye to both the lounge and our very dear friend Drew who is starting a new chapter outside of Lubbock. The party will be on Saturday, December 16. Stay tuned for more details.

It’s been one hell of a run. I cannot count the memories, friendly conversations, life lessons, ci**rs smoked, or worldly problems solved (although many of those we couldn't remember the next day anyway...) that have come from having a place like know a guy to smoke a cigar.

It is very bittersweet that the lounge is closing. We accomplished something that no one else had ever done before. When we started the lounge, we had around 12 people that were dedicated to the lounge's success. Over the years, opportunity has taken those people elsewhere. We are all very different people than we were 5 and half years ago. It is difficult to think back to everyone that helped, donated and bled for the lounge without a smile. Everyone came together with a common goal. There are a lot of people that came through those doors and I consider everyone of them a friend. The lounge will always be a happy thought.

There are still a lot of ci**rs out there to be smoked together. It is up to us to find the time and location.

No, it never was about the money; just the ci**rs and the people. It’s time to close this chapter and begin writing the next. I’m not sure what it will look like. It really is a clean slate. I’ve learned that some people are in your life for a fleeting moment, while others may be there for a season. There are a handful of friends the Lord places in our hearts that, no matter where life leads, how long it takes between visits, or in what part of the world our paths cross, we will grab a beverage and a fine hand rolled cigar, and pick up right where we left off. That can only happen with good people, and the folks I have come to know through the lounge are some of the best on the planet. This leads me to what I believe is the best advice I can give to any aspiring cigar connoisseur or avid aficionado: try not to smoke alone.
