The start of our 2026 Summer Reading Program is here!! Take a look at all the incredible free activities we've got planned this week. You can log the Dino of the Week on the READsquared App to earn 25 points!

We are excited to announce the return of the Read, Lunch, & Learn program at Patterson Branch Library! Help keep those reading skills active this summer with storytimes and focused reading sessions. Plus, enjoy a free lunch to keep your body and mind fueled!

Happening every Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday this summer from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM (except June 16, 17, 18)

The most important thing about Summer Reading is the reading! We look forward to helping spread the joy of reading in readers of all ages!

#2- Fun Programs! 😍

Our calendar is packed with fun programs for every age! There will be lots of crafts, storytimes, special presenters, and learning opportunities! We can't wait for you to join us this summer!

Wear your favorite dinosaur costume/attire and stomp around Higinbotham Park on Monday, June 1 at 9:00 AM! Don't have dino attire? That's ok- join us anyway!

We'll have color wars and games on site for lots of family fun!

#3- Fun Decorations! 🎉
With new decorations up for Summer Reading, our libraries have a new energy that brings excitement and joy to all who visit us! Make sure to stop by all 4 libraries to see what they've done!

We're introducing the Dino of the Week this summer! Every week we will reveal the special Dino of the Week and you can enter that dino into the READsquared App to earn 25 points!

Allosaurus is the first one up, so remember & save this post for when you can sign-up on READsquared starting June 1st!

We're partnering with organizations like the Museum at Texas Tech, Lubbock Master Gardeners, and Lubbock Lake Landmark and more throughout the summer to teach you all about dinosaurs and the world around us!
