Meet the Team! 💙
This week we sat down with Kate Ginise, Equestrian Business Manager at CapillaryFlow.
“As Equestrian Business Manager at CapillaryFlow, I have the opportunity to combine my lifelong passion for horses with innovation, sustainability, and performance.
My journey in the equestrian world began on a small farm in Ohio, where horses were simply a way of life. When I was in the fourth grade, my mother founded an equine-assisted therapy nonprofit, and I spent years volunteering in lessons—an experience that deepened my appreciation for the powerful connection between horses and people.
I started riding at a young age and began training and competing under professional guidance by age eight. Growing up, I was also actively involved in 4-H, where I showed my pony, sheep, and dog. Those experiences taught me responsibility, sportsmanship, and a deep respect for animal care that continues to influence me today. After spending several winter seasons training and competing in Wellington, Florida, I eventually made the move full-time to continue pursuing the sport.
Outside the arena, I graduated magna cm laude from The Ohio State University with a background in health promotion, nutrition and exercise science, along with minors in bioethics and global public health. That scientific foundation continues to influence the way I approach equestrian performance, arena design, and horse-and-rider wellness.
Whether I’m in the saddle, working with clients, or helping to create better riding environments, I’m passionate about supporting the long-term success and welfare of both horses and riders. Horses have shaped nearly every chapter of my life, and I’m grateful to now combine that passion with a career dedicated to advancing the future of our sport.”
FIFA-accredited tests were completed on our grass hydroponic field this week!
Our field performed phenomenally.
Looking forward to sharing the results here soon!

Why do grasses grown in CapillaryFlow Hydroponic Systems develop much stronger root systems than traditional soil-grown turf? 🌱
It comes down to the root-zone environment.
Traditional soil-grown turf:
• Inconsistent moisture and oxygen levels
• Soil compaction limits root development
• Weaker root structure and turf stability
• More surface breakdown under hoof traffic and weather stress
CapillaryFlow Hydroponics: 💧 🌱
• Dense, fibrous root development
• Improved oxygen and moisture balance in the root zone
• Stronger root-to-sand binding and sod cohesion
• Greater resistance to shear forces and surface displacement
• Faster recovery after traffic and training use 🐎
For equestrian applications, this translates to a more stable and resilient surface for horses to ride, run, train, and graze on — while also improving durability, consistency, drainage, and long-term turf performance. 🐎 🌱 💧
The best way to start the day! 🙌🏼🐴🌴

Thank you to The Luxury Equestrian Network for hosting such a thoughtful and engaging Spring Event. I was honored to speak on the panel alongside an incredible group of equestrian homeowners, industry professionals, and real estate leaders discussing the intersection of property design, land stewardship, and equine welfare.
One idea remained central throughout the evening: equine welfare is not simply a matter of care — it is fundamentally a function of environment. The infrastructure we build, the land management decisions we make, and the ecological systems we maintain directly influence the long-term health, safety, and sustainability of equestrian operations.
I was grateful to share CapillaryFlow’s perspective on turnout management and sustainable turf systems, particularly how subsurface irrigation technology can support healthier paddocks, greater water efficiency, and more resilient landscapes in water-conscious and wildfire-prone regions like Southern California.
The discussion also explored the broader realities facing equestrian property owners today — from zoning and permitting complexities to barn safety, compost management, circulation design, and long-term land usability. What became clear is that successful equestrian properties require an increasingly interdisciplinary approach that balances operational function, environmental responsibility, and animal welfare.
As climate pressures, land-use regulations, and operational costs continue to evolve, designing equestrian properties with both resilience and welfare in mind is no longer aspirational — it is essential to the future sustainability of equestrian living.
