Nanten Pottery
My work is one-of-a-kind Japanese pottery that embodies simplicity, functionality, and a connection to nature.
Check here often to see my pieces mid-process, and visit my webpage to see photos of the finished product (www.NantenPottery.com)! All pieces are handmade and assembled, and all glaze recipes are created and tested by Nanten Pottery founder Hironobu Nish*tateno. Each piece is stoneware and safely used in the microwave, oven, and dishwaser.

Hope you’re having a lovely thanksgiving week so far! I have so much gratitude that I’m able to do what I love for a living…create unique Japanese pottery!
We just listed our available bud vases to our Etsy shop (other types of pieces coming soon), so take a look if you’re doing your holiday shopping!

Hope to see you here at our studio in Loves Park, IL this weekend! Friday 12-5, Saturday 10-5, Sunday 10-4. Details here: www.NantenPottery.com/upcoming-shows

Thanks so much for your patience! I’ve got 20 or so bud vases just about ready to go live in my Etsy shop, so let’s plan on Wednesday morning for that! I’ll keep uploading the other pots, hopefully releasing another set on Friday. I plan to have pieces available in my Etsy shop until our art fair Labor Day weekend. After that, I may not be able to get pots up again until November, but I’ll see what I can do.💕

We were so looking forward to seeing everyone at the pottery tour this weekend, but sadly we aren’t going to make it. Our household has been hit by a respiratory illness, and it knocked me out the most. I’ve finally gotten out of bed, but I’m still hacking, so in order to prevent a relapse, I’ve made the tough decision to sit this one out…I need to work on not pushing myself so hard. Heartfelt apologies to you all, as I love participating in the tour! In case you’d like to get your Nanten Pottery fix, I have a handful of pots in my Etsy shop for the next week. Thanks so much for your understanding!

Finally the post many of you have been waiting for…another Nanten Pottery masterpiece! We had our son three weeks ago! Welcome to the world and to our family, Masaya! The first picture is within a few days of birth, and the second, with the huge cheeks was just the other day…he’s eating well and growing fast. Mom is doing well, too, and we’re all trying to figure out how to navigate our new world with big-kid needs and infant needs. Overall, we’re enjoying having a baby in the house again.💕🎂🥰
