This little story is great.
A man was asked to paint a boat. He brought his paint and brushes and began to paint the boat a bright red, as the owner asked him.
While painting, he noticed a small hole in the hull, and quietly repaired it.
When he finished painting, he received his money and left.
The next day, the owner of the boat came to the painter and presented him with a nice check, much higher than the payment for painting.
The painter was surprised and said “You've already paid me for painting the boat Sir!”
“But this is not for the paint job. It's for repairing the hole in the boat.”
“Ah! But it was such a small service... certainly it's not worth paying me such a high amount for something so insignificant.”
“My dear friend, you do not understand. Let me tell you what happened:
“When I asked you to paint the boat, I forgot to mention the hole.
“When the boat dried, my kids took the boat and went on a fishing trip.
“They did not know that there was a hole. I was not at home at that time.
“When I returned and noticed they had taken the boat, I was desperate because I remembered that the boat had a hole.
“Imagine my relief and joy when I saw them returning from fishing.
“Then, I examined the boat and found that you had repaired the hole!
“You see, now, what you did? You saved the life of my children! I do not have enough money to pay your 'small' good deed.”
So no matter who, when or how, continue to help, sustain, wipe tears, listen attentively, and carefully repair all the 'leaks' you find. You never know when one is in need of us, or when God holds a pleasant surprise for us to be helpful and important to someone.
Along the way, you may have repaired numerous 'boat holes' for several people without realizing how many lives you've save. ❤️
Make a difference....be the best you...

Tell State Lawmakers To Protect Waterway Rights!
If you enjoy paddling, please read below and if possible partake in the call to action to ensure accessibility for all to enjoy.
A bill was recently introduced in the Illinois General Assembly that, if enacted, will give paddlers access to most of the rivers and streams in Illinois.
Recent conflicts of interests between paddlers on the Mazon River have resulted in a court ruling that restated the Illinois statutes that land owners along rivers “own” that portion of the river adjacent to their land. Currently the Illinois rivers that we routinely paddle—Kishwaukee, DuPage, Des Plaines, Salt, Nippersink, Fox, etc.—are potentially off limits if any landowner decides to enforce this riparian right.
Now new legislation is being designed--HB 5844—that will make these rivers open and available to paddlers. If passed by the Illinois legislative bodies, this will bring legal access to recreational river paddling to Illinois, similar to the laws in our neighboring states—Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and many others.
The bill is in the Rules Committee at this point. If it advances, our legislators need to know that this is an important step not only for Illinois paddlers but for the tourist industry as well.
Several organizations have created web pages to help people contact their state representatives to request their support of this bill. Open Lands’ page is
https://openlands.salsalabs.org/ProtectRiverAccess/index.html .
This page contains additional background information and other resources. You will find a form for contacting your legislators and a suggested wording for your message.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

America Recycles Day | US EPA
No matter which side of the aisle you are on, reuse/repurpose/regenerate has got to be high on your list. It is a pretty common trait amongst outdoor enthusiasts. Tomorrow is .
According to the EPA, “A circular economy reduces material use, redesigns materials to be less resource intensive, and recaptures ‘waste’ as a resource to manufacture new materials and products." On this day and every day, please do your part. You can check out more info at https://www.epa.gov/recyclingstrategy/america-recycles-day.
