If your furnace's high limit is tripping don't just check your filter. Also check your coil as debris could be plugging it up preventing adequate airflow.

Found this set up while on a service call. Someone had replaced the power vent water heater and failed to properly install the venting. The PVC was unsealed allowing heat and carbon monoxide to escape. The homeowner was not happy when I explained I had to shut off the gas for the hot water heater because of the unsafe conditions. Hey at least they have heat now.

If you have an older belt driven furnace make sure to keep up on your maintenance. The belt on the blower motor slipped off causing a fire. J.W Heating and cooling for them up and running again.
