I illustrated the cover art for Res Ipsa Loquitur, an album by Unit 731, a hardcore band out of PA. After I finished the work, the blindfolded girl at the center of that cover didn't stay there - she grew horns, a labyrinth, and roots, and transformed into the faun: one of my earlier signature images. Some drawings finish when you turn them in. This one kept going. I've made a few shirts and prints of her. It's been a while since I revisited it, so it was nice to see it resurface from the archive.

Mother Earth began as a letterpress print and never stopped evolving — into stickers, shirts, and screen-print variants, and finally into a resin bust sculpted by Bigshot Toyworks. It's strange and wonderful watching a drawing grow into a physical form.

The Sphynx cat: nature's pre-rendered crosshatching. This 2013 letterpress was an excuse to draw every single wrinkle.

Originally drawn for a cover of several years ago, the fleur-de-lis belongs to Louisville. So I made mine out of what the name promises: flowers. Look close - there's a whole garden in there, plus one vigilant ladybug keeping watch.

I had the illustration letterpress printed by my buddy ; he has printed all Angryblue letterpress prints over the past 17-18 years.

Green River Distilling came to me with a new honey bourbon in the works and a bee icon that wasn't quite there yet - a placeholder built from stock pieces. The brief was sharp: make it feel crafted and proprietary, work their signature horseshoe into the bee's anatomy, top-down view, real bee details - stripes, stinger, fuzzy segmented legs - and match the engraved style of their existing label illustrations.

The solution: the horseshoe is the bee. It wraps the abdomen, nail holes and all, with the stripes flowing through it. One mark that reads as both at a glance.

Now she's on shelves, parked right above the word HONEY with beautiful foil details. Cheers to the crew on its launch and for keeping it local. Winters Photography Co. -Mickie Winters Art took beautiful photos, and the honey is from !

Archive Pull: Originally drawn in 2008 for some Danzig merchandise. It wasn't until 2016 that I finally decided to make prints; I'm happy with the metallic ink. It's been a while since I printed with sparkles.
