RISSC Lab at UofL
Welcome to the Risk Identification of Suicidal States to Inform Care (RISSC) Lab at UofL!
We are recruiting Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC) for studies about mental health! This survey will take 10 minutes or less to complete and asks you basic questions to figure out which future research studies you would be interested in participating in. We welcome all BIPOC young adults aged 18 to 25 years old. This is a research study that has been approved by the Institutional Review Board at the University of Louisville (approval #: 24.0110).
Please feel free to reach out to Principal Investigators Yara Mekawi ([email protected]) and/or Nadia Al-Dajani ([email protected]), Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, should you have any questions.

Introducing Dr. Nadia Al-Dajani! As the principal investigator, she guides our team in exploring innovative ways to support people during times of crisis. Dr. Al-Dajani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Louisville. Her research focuses on the identification of near-term risk factors of suicidal thoughts and behaviors, in order to better understand momentary su***de risk and to develop novel prevention/intervention methods. Through her work, Dr. Al-Dajani also seeks to support minoritized populations who face unique stressors often overlooked in research. Under her leadership, the RISSC Lab strives to push the field of su***de prevention forward.
