Wow, many Art collectors contributed to an amazing exhibition at Portland Art Museum . Monet to Matisse, Pissaro to Picasso, with Rodin, Degas, Chagall, ... remarkable detail! I will continue posting more from this show.

- Silver Lame' Wings - design based on Loie Fuller's wings from 1893, meant to undulate and shimmer like water. I made and used these Wings for many many performances, including laser, CGI, live theatre, multimedia, and Burningman!

Getty Museum on a hot day is a great choice, we had umbrellas for strolling thru the Gardens. No photos of the amazing Medieval exhibit, no flash allowed, but go see it! I love the sculptures, and intricate mosaic of the table inlays with jewel and precious stone. We get overwhelmed after 4 hours of ingesting the craftsmanship of older eras. Cannot be matched! Deep appreciation to JPGetty, who was indeed a global philanthropist, preserving and sharing Art from all over the world!!

I developed this alternative PE program as my answer in the 90's to Hi-Impact Aerobics (which I believed was injurious, and I was RIGHT!). "Step Beyond" combined hiphop, gymnastics, and improvisation, using the Step Platform, donated directly by the company after they let me give a demo during their Competition. 20 Platforms were gifted to my after-school program for Venice Boys & Girls Club, I added S.M.A.S.H. ( Santa Monica Alternative School House) for 4 years as a volunteer, the final year was paid by LAUSD $10/hr part-time PE teacher. LOL!

Fun Times this weekend!

My Mother Jean was a wonderful motivator, mentor, friend, and companion. She raised 4 children after her divorce (I was 8yo), and went to summer school, got a Masters in Library Science. She was our Brownie Leader, and when my sister and I were to fly up to Girl Scouts, she became that leader, too. She taught Civics, Geography & History in HS, eventually becoming legal reference librarian for Tosco Oil. When she retired, she volunteered tirelessly for League of Women Voters in LA, and helped install the Mock Elections for LAUSD. Her beautiful laugh, sparkling eyes, and indomitable spirit, are all within me, and all of her children. I even see it in her Great Grand Children, we have 3 now!

She would be on the frontlines today marching for women's rights, I know. May her wisdom, beauty and compassion always be with me, as I navigate my journey in the way she taught me - "Life is an Adventure! Stay curious". Thank you Mom, I treasure all of our trips and times together.
