Yesterday, our team in El Salvador, in collaboration with Fundación Sendas Organización de Personas con Discapacidad, led a meeting with key government partners to discuss findings and recommendations for improving inclusive disaster response policies and procedures.

The meeting resulted in a clear roadmap outlining objectives, actionable steps, responsibilities, resources, and timelines. The goal: to integrate these recommendations into national and regional plans, ensuring a more inclusive and effective approach to future emergencies.

As we step into 2025, we reflect on an incredible year of milestones and impact! Thanks to your support, we surpassed our year-end fundraising goal, raising $66,902—nearly $7,000 over our target! Your generosity helps us transform lives and build stronger, more inclusive communities worldwide.

2024 highlights:
- Secured $40.5M in USAID funding for our Rehabilitation for Ukraine (Rehab4U) program and our Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction program in El Salvador.
- ATscale, the United Nation’s Global Partnership for Assistive Technology, recognized us as a trusted partner to increase access to assistive products during humanitarian emergencies.
- We continued our commitment to Ukraine by building a resilient national rehabilitation system so every Ukrainian can return to a full life and reintegrate into society.
- In Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uganda, and Ukraine, we trained over 1,200 rehabilitation professionals, health professionals, and students.
- Delivered nearly 13,000 assistive products to 19 countries through CLASP.
- In El Salvador, we launched a new program to strengthen the resilience of people with disabilities through an inclusive approach to disaster risk reduction and response.

Increasing access to quality, appropriate assistive technology in Ukraine 💪

📌 Команда Momentum Wheels for Humanity здійснила масштабну доставку у кабінети асистивних технологій

🔸 Близько 1000 нових допоміжних засобів реабілітації вже почали використовувати у 4 нових кабінетах асистивних технологій для реабілітації пацієнтів у різних регіонах України. Зокрема, у партнерські заклади охорони здоровʼя: КП “Медичне об’єднання Луцької міської територіальної громади”, КНП «Київська міська клінічна лікарня №8», Вінницька обласна клінічна психоневрологічна лікарня ім. акад. О.І. Ющенка та Львівський обласний госпіталь ветеранів війн та репресованих ім. Ю. Липи було доставлено крісла колісні різного типу, засоби мобільності, такі як палиці та милиці, а також інші допоміжні засоби реабілітації, які допоможуть пацієнтам відновлювати рух та незалежність.

🔸 Крім того, відбулося доукомплектування 5 кабінетів асистивних технологій карбоновими ортезами, які відкривають нові можливості для реабілітації пацієнтів. У партнерських закладах охорони здоровʼя: Комунальне некомерційне підприємство Київська міська лікарня №4, КНП ОКЛ Івано-Франківської обласної ради, КНП «Тернопільська обласна клінічна психоневрологічна лікарня», Перше медичне обʼєднання Львова та Волинська обласна клінічна лікарня ці ортези стали вкрай важливими у забезпеченні ефективного відновлення та покращення якості ходи.

🔸 Однак наша команда сприяє не лише забезпеченню допоміжними засобами реабілітації, а й проводить навчання для фахівців. Наші тренінги включають спостережний аналіз ходи, менеджмент ортезування та сучасні методи роботи з асистивними технологіями. Це дозволяє фахівцям ефективніше працювати над відновленням і покращенням якості ходи у пацієнтів різних категорій, сприяючи швидшому поверненню до повсякденного життя.

🔸 Momentum активно розширює доступ до допоміжних засобів реабілітації, що позитивно впливає на якість життя пацієнтів. Цей напрямок роботи сприяє покращенню реабілітаційних послуг в Україні, що має вагоме значення у такий складний час для країни.

🔸 Довідково: Діяльність ведеться у межах проєкту "Покращення реабілітаційних послуг у системі охорони здоров’я", що фінансується агентством США з міжнародного розвитку USAID та впроваджується Momentum Wheels for Humanity.

The event featured a panel of experienced PTs, including World Physiotherapy mentors, who shared their career journeys and insights into the field of PT. Certificates were awarded to teachers who successfully completed training sessions.

📢 Ключова роль у реалізації масштабних змін у системі реабілітації та в трансформації соціальних послуг відведена Momentum Wheels for Humanity. Ця міжнародна організація вже понад 25 років працює над покращенням життя кожного українця.

Наразі, за фінансової підтримки USAID - US Agency for International Development, Momentum Wheels for Humanity Ukraine впроваджує проєкт Rehab4U, покликаний об’єднати міжнародних і місцевих експертів для створення комплексної та сучасної системи реабілітації в Україні.

📌 Ось кілька ключових напрямів роботи Momentum Wheels for Humanity в нашій країні:

🔹 Підтримка розвитку реабілітаційної інфраструктури.

Допомога закладам охорони здоров’я в модернізації реабілітаційних відділень.

🔹 Підвищення кваліфікації фахівців.

Проведення тренінгів, лекцій та вебінарів для мультидисциплінарних реабілітаційних команд. До відповідної діяльності залучаються провідні експерти з США та Європи.

🔹 Інклюзивність та соціальна інтеграція.

Підтримка людей з інвалідністю та діяльність, спрямована на забезпечення їхньої соціальної інтеграції й розширення можливостей для повноцінного життя.

🔹Доступ до асистивних технологій.

Розширення доступу до сучасних допоміжних засобів реабілітації, які значно покращують якість життя людей з інвалідністю.

🔹Вдосконалення освітніх програм.

Співпраця з міжнародними експертами, українськими професійними асоціаціями та університетами для вдосконалення освітніх програм із протезування-ортезування, фізичної терапії та ерготерапії.

Також Momentum Wheels for Humanity активно сприяє впровадженню доказових підходів у наданні реабілітаційної допомоги та разом з іншими партнерами працює над створенням моделі доступних реабілітаційних послуг на рівні громад.

Організація не лише ділиться міжнародним досвідом, а й адаптує його до українських реалій. Її фахівці допомагають розв'язувати нагальні проблеми сфери та сприяють модернізації реабілітаційного сектору через стійкі системні зміни.

Our Rehab4U team recently attended the International Medical Partnership conference. We hosted a panel on educational standards and held a working meeting with specialists from Human Study e.V. and the Lviv National Medical University to discuss launching a two-year program to train educators for Ukrainian medical institutions.

Developing a modern rehabilitation system is critical for addressing ongoing and post-war challenges in Ukraine. High-quality training is key to improving care and building a sustainable system that meets global standards.
