Spent a lil time this weekend with friends taking it back to tees and 2006 rock bands for a lil’ teenager nostalgia seeing with my girl ! We’ve been through a lot of life together… Sometimes, those weekend vibes make it hard to get back into the groove, especially when it comes to rest.
One healthy habit I’m really focusing on this week is getting enough rest. After traveling and juggling my schedule, I find that it’s one of the most challenging things to get right. But rest is so important, especially when you’re trying to tone up and get in shape. Did you know that you actually burn calories while you’re sleeping? So ladies, let’s not sleep on this 😜🤓😴☝🏾
Here are 3 things I’m going to implement this week to get back on track with my sleep schedule and help myself wind down at the end of the day. Hope it helps you too:
1. Create a bedtime routine – Set the mood with dim lights and no screens at least 30 minutes before bed.
2. Stay hydrated — my body will function properly only when it’s hydrated enough, so this is an integral part of recovery.
3. Stretch it out – A quick 10-15-minute stretch or yoga flow relaxes the body and signals it’s time to rest. So I’m gonna set this up before I go to bed and let this flow get me ready to sleep ✌🏾

🥗Food Straight talk… I’ve been working really hard the past few months & my nutrition has suffered…wanting to take big steps forward in my career has me really focused on my task at hand & forgetting to take care of my meals for real honey 👏🏾 I know you ladies can relate. When you’re getting sh*t done, food can be the LAST thing on your mind until you’re scrolling grub hub starving 😫.

Here’s some things that have helped me take care of my gut. Start eating a balanced & nourishing diet you’re well on your way. This means whole foods. Fruits, vegetables, grains, proteins, & healthy fats in your meals 🥑. Focusing on fiber-rich foods is particularly beneficial. Fiber is the fuel for the good bacteria in your gut, helping them thrive & digestive your food. You can find fiber in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, & nuts.

Diet yes! All day 👏🏾 but, staying hydrated honeeeyy is so important for maintaining a healthy gut 💦 Drinking enough water keeps your digestive system running smoothly & absorbing nutrients. Otherwise it’s like flushing your food down the drain & not getting much out of it… sorry 🫣 it’s just the truth. You gotta drink up. One of the reasons I love my MOBOT because it helps keep me up on my H20!

Don’t get me started on high stress levels that can & will disrupt the balance in your gut, leading to digestive issues. You gotta do the stress-reducing activities like gym time, meditation, & getting outside.

I have been a part of the fitness world for quite some time now and there are STILL days that I feel unmotivated or times where I just cannot hit my goals.
