Stop #2 for the day!
Who is coming to celebrate our 85th Anniversary tonight?
Pink’s Hot Dogs, Inc., a Hollywood landmark since 1939, this hot dog stand serves over 1200 hot dogs and 200 hamburgers a day. Pink’s was started in 1939 by Richard and Beverly’s parents, Paul and Betty Pink, with a pushcart they purchased for $50, which money they borrowed from Betty’s mother. The land on which the pushcart stood was leased by Paul and Betty for $15 per month. Hot dogs at that time were 10 cents and cokes were a nickel. Pink’s offered curb service, and was lucky to sell 100 hot dogs a day.
Today marks our 85th Anniversary as a Los Angeles Legend!

Pink’s has placed a friendly bet with New York’s iconic family-owned hot dog joint, Gray’s Papaya. The losing side will donate $1,000 to a charity of their choice, putting not just pride but goodwill on the line!
Founded by Nicholas Gray in 1973, Gray’s Papaya is a family-owned and operated New York staple, with its flagship location on 72nd Street and Broadway. Over the years, Gray’s Papaya has become an iconic New York institution, appearing in popular culture hits like S*x and the City and Fools Rush In. This past August, Gray’s celebrated its 50th anniversary with its first-ever Founder’s Day, honoring the legacy of Nicholas Gray.
