Darla came into the Barstow shelter reportedly pregnant, severely emaciated and with a very injured ear. We’ve been at the vet all morning and afternoon with her and we found out that she luckily is not pregnant and we’re so happy about this. This means she can start treatment right away. Today’s vet visit alone was $800 and her surgery will cost an additional $3,500 - $4,000 to fix too. LRD Family, we need your help to help Darla. This sweet girl does not deserve any of this. If you can, please consider making a Tax exempt donation to Darla’s surgery. To donate please visit our website linked in our bio. You can also donate via PayPal & Zelle with our email [email protected] and via Venmo with username LetsRescueDogs (please beware of scammers with similar usernames)

Update: foster found 🎉 GUYS ‼️ This precious starving girl is pregnant and scared at the Barstow Animal Shelter. We really need a hero to volunteer their time tomorrow and take her from the Barstow Animal Shelter to Long Beach, CA to us. I know l, it’s a really long drive but gas would be compensated and you would be saving not just her life but those of her babies. Please, if you can make the drive send us a DM as soon as possible!

Palmdale animal shelter will euthanize these 19 small dogs on Monday without committed fosters willing to pick them up and give them a safe place to land until adopted. We have a few people who’ve stepped up but the reality is, there’s no way we can save all 19 dogs in two days with the limited resources we have, even if we magically found 19 foster homes for them. 💔 Each dog will require $300-$500 in medical vetting and grooming. If you’re in a position to sponsor the rescue of just one dog, or sponsor a part of their rescue- we could save more of the dogs you see pictured here. If you live in California and are willing to be a foster parent, please head over to the link in our bio to fill out the application ASAP! To sponsor the rescue of one of these dogs, please head over to our website linked in our bio. We’ve seen terrible things happen to dogs wandering alone in Los Angeles, but Theo is one of the lucky ones who eventually found his wait to us. Theo’s finder tried to find his owners with no luck. Theo was dirty and infested with fleas so he had to stay outside in the yard to prevent him from infesting the resident dogs 💔 The day his finder reached out to us, we made sure he was cozy, safe and all the fleas were eradicated. Then his new mom came to pick him up 🥹 Since then, he’s been living his best life in the Pacific Palisades being the spoiled boy he’s always deserved to be.

Thank you LRD family for your continued support and for your shares on Theo’s posts that lead to him finding his family 🥹💕

Update: surgery funded! 🎉 Brand new to the world and Boise already knows so much pain. We rescued him from the Downey shelter with a broken pelvis, leg and tail. He’s had surgery at the lovely CARES vet to repair this but at his post op appointment his doctor confirmed the tail isn’t healing and it needs to be amputated 💔 We only consider amputation when medically necessary and it’s urgently necessary. Between Mila’s $2500 leg amputation coming up, Joan’s unexpected and costly pregnancy and now Boises $2000 amputation we can’t rescue anymore. We really need help, LRD family. Please help us continue our mission of saving medically vulnerable dogs suffering in our shelters. To make a tax exempt donation to our organization, please visit our website linked in our bio. Update: foster found! 🎉 We were very sad and shocked to learn that Joan, whom we just rescued from Riverside is unexpectedly pregnant 💔 The last thing this world needs are more puppies… but thankfully there are only up to three babies and I know we will be able to find them homes where they’ll be loved and wanted. Joan needs to switch fosters as soon as possible to someone who’s more prepared to take on Joans circumstances. We can guide you every step of the way. We take care of all medical vetting and supplies we just need someone willing to offer her a space in their home. Please, if you can foster Joan fill out our foster application located in our bio. LRD Family, 1 life ended up being 4 lives rescued unknowingly. We could really use your help finding the ongoing medical care for this little family and with the new laundry list of supplies her new fosters will be needing to see her through to delivery. To make a tax exempt donation to Joan and her care please consider donating by visiting our website linked in our bio.
