Cascade Forward

We are marching on Saturday (9/19), as usual. We've shown up every two weeks for a 18 months now, and we'll keep showing up. This time tho, we're showing up locally. We've got some important races going on right now, and what better place to learn about them than the Civic Circle?

Cascade Forward hasn't formally endorsed any candidates yet, but we certainly know who's on the short list. We'll have info from all the local races available for you to look at so you can learn about the candidates, and folks from the campaigns will be around to answer questions. You can grab a yard sign, some stickers and buttons.

I think we all get a little overwhelmed with the big picture, but the smaller, more local picture is absolutely easier to change. This area wasn't always red, and we can all work together to change it!

No Kings is coming back to Cowlitz County — and this time, we’re taking it all the way to the ballot box.

Join Cascade Forward on Saturday, October 17 for NO KINGS: VOTE EARLY, a rally for democracy and a reminder that the most powerful thing we can do this fall is show up — in the streets and at the polls.

We’ll have local candidates and community leaders speaking, signs in the air, feet in the streets, and yes, frog hats.

Bring your signs. Bring your friends.

Cascade Forward is back this weekend! Midterms are coming up. We will be marching for democracy, fairness, and power to the people. We will also have information, swag, and yard signs from state and local candidates who align with Cascade Forward's values. If youve been meaning to pick up a yard sign, we will have some here!

We'd love to talk to everyone about our community's concerns for the upcoming elections. We may be considering a candidate forum.

Come see us Saturday, September 5 at noon. We usually demonstrate for about an hour.

If she started a party tomorrow, I'd be one of the first members.

Ms. Rachel has been an extremely pleasant surprise. She was a favourite of my toddler, and now she's a hero of mine. I had no idea the lady who was really good at showing two year olds how to talk would also be one of the premier voices for humanity and kindness in politics.

I just wanted to drop a line here to explain why we've been a bit quiet for the past couple of weeks.

The big answer is: it's campaign season. Cascade Forward is a bit different from a lot of grassroots, independent organizations in that the founding and operating members (Austin and Lori) are both also political organizers. Austin does graphic design, web design, print materials, and social media for political campaigns. Lori is a member of the local Democrats (go Cowlitz County Democrats!) and a campaign manager.

As you may have heard, there are some big, super important midterms coming up this year. So we've been hard at work trying to help some of the more despicable members of our government into an early retirement.

It's a ton of work. I feel super guilty that Cascade Forward is so slow right now.

But Lori is going to be announcing plans for our next demonstration soon, and Rubble Flowers is still chugging along in the background. We are running a bit low on money and art supplies for putting our kits together, but the kits are being distributed. We're starting to see the little backpacks on kids walking through the park. It's pretty cool.

We are still here. And we'll still be out there every two weeks. See you soon!
