🌡️ Heat Advisory Reminder

Who Whee it's gonna be Hot!

The thermometer may say 100°+, but that doesn't mean we have to fight it.

For the next few days, we're shifting into what I jokingly call a "self-imposed summer lockdown." Get up early, knock out the important tasks, stay hydrated, and save the adventures for the cooler parts of the day.

One trick that's worked well for us on the farm:

Around 4:00 AM, during the coolest part of the morning, open the windows, turn on a couple of fans, and pull that cool air through the house. Flush out the heat that's built up in the attic and walls overnight. Then, once the temperatures start climbing, close things back up and let your home become your shelter from the afternoon heat.

Every now and then, step outside into the shade for a few minutes. Feel the heat. Appreciate it. Then head back inside.

It's funny—when you do, your house almost feels like it has air conditioning, even when it doesn't.

Drink water before you're thirsty.
Check on your neighbors.
Take care of your pets.
Slow down when nature tells you to slow down.

The heat will pass we just need to chill until it does

This is an utterance from a Professor, at the University of San Diego, I had for Business Policy my senior year in 1988.

THE THREE RULES OF BUSINESS:

1. Know that Thy Business.

2. If you don't know, Rule Number One, Hire somebody That Does!!!

3. Pay you Number Two more than you pay Number One.

That may not make a lot of sense to a lot of people, but I have used that in all of my endeavours, both successful and that have failed since that point in nineteen eighty eight. I'm thinking you might consider this... A shout out to the University of San Diego, if you're thinking about going to college, maybe you're a scholar athlete and think you would flourish in a smaller family type setting... Give USD and the Torreos a hard look the totality of education community of empathy and service cannot be understated.

WhoWee love backstories of the job of traffic safety professionals trying to help out a motorist disabled in the center divider after a crash. The officer is trying to convey to the stopped cars not to proceed for the notorists and officers safety while he communicates with the driver to push him to the right shoulder so that they can clear all the traffic lanes to resume the safe and efficient flow of traffic in an expeditious manner... awesome blossom 🌸
