Gettin' Felt Up with Rae

Barbara the Manatee ("Please, sweetie - you can call me Babs.") is no spring chicken. She and her husband, Murray, moved out from Jersey about a year ago when Murray's health started failing. ("I love that man. He's a complete mashugana, but I don't know what I'd do without him!") They're now enjoying their retirement in King's Bay, Florida. ("We looked at Boca, and it's highway robbery what they want for a house there!") She's probably in her sixties ("A lady NEVER tells!") but looks great. She says that the secret to staying youthful is to remain active and eat right. ("Tuesdays I do water aerobics at the Y with Gladys and Maureen, then it's off to find a restaurant with a hundred pounds of turtle grass and an early bird special!") Babs loves cruise ships, but hates their propellers. And even though people call her a sea cow, she wants you to know that there was a time when sailors mistook her for a mermaid. ("I looked like a young Lauren Bacall.") Murray says that if you're out to sea long enough, pretty much everything starts to look like a mermaid.

Beatriz the Bumblebee loves spending her days working in the garden, sipping delicious nectar in the warm sunlight, while crawling all over flowers' sexy parts. She does NOT want you to pay attention to her stinger. ("My compound eyes are up HERE, guys!") Sure, she has the ability to deliver a nasty sting, but unless you're a Monsanto executive, she'd prefer to just mind her own beeswax. Just treat her like the queen that she is, and no one gets hurt!

Luna the Great Horned Owl takes her title very seriously. Her skills and talents (talons?) definitely set her apart from lesser birds.

"Hey, Parakeet! Can YOU rotate your head 270 degrees to look directly behind you??"

"Hey, Pelican! Are you able to hear a mouse squeak when it's over 900 friggin' feet away from you??"

"(Didn't think so!)"

Being "Great" is a full-time job. And Luna manages to do all of this while everyone else sleeps. (She IS a nite-owl, after all.)

Felipe the Arabian Horse may have the body of a c**t but he's got the spirit of a stallion. Give him room to roam and he will wow you with his grace, his speed, and his power. Of course, he's not too cool to enjoy a fresh carrot or a tasty sugar cube if you're offering! If Felipe gets too wild, he's easy to rein in. Just mention the words "glue factory" and he settles right down.
