Your conflict isn’t the problem. Your nervous system is the answer. | Life + Relationship Coach for midlife women | Seasons of Joy Podcast

You know the conversation. One minute you're fine, and the next it's a battle of wills with your spouse, your kid, or your co-worker.
For years I thought those moments just happened to me, like weather. Then I learned something that changed how I show up in every hard conversation. There is a space between what happens and what I do next. A pause. The breath where I don't say the next thing yet.
And in that space, I get to ask a better question than the one fear is asking. Not "how do I win this," but "what is God inviting me to see that my fear is hiding from me?"
That space holds two gifts. Personal revelation, and your own God-given agency to choose who you'll be, no matter what the other person does.
This week's episode walks a real conversation through it twice, so you can feel the difference the space makes. Episode 207, Be Still First: Creating Space for Personal Revelation.

It’s been an interesting six months.
Tomorrow morning at 6am, I find out why.
I’ll be at Snowbasin Ski Resort in Utah, lacing up my trail shoes and beginning one of the hardest physical challenges of my life.
It is an event called 29029.
That number is the elevation of Mt. Everest.
Over the next 36 hours, I’ll hike up and gondola down the same 2.3-mile summit thirteen times.
For a total of 29.9 miles and over 29,000 feet of elevation gain.
There will be aid stations, meals, a tent to sleep in, and 350 other people doing the exact same thing right alongside me.
Today, my body feels good.
My mind feels strong.
I’ve trained.
I’ve put in the effort.
And that’s all I can control.
I don’t know for certain that I’ll finish.
But I’m going to try.
And whatever the outcome, it will be a win.
So I want to ask you something before I head out:
What’s your Everest?
What are you facing right now that feels enormous.
Maybe even impossible?
What have you been training for, quietly, in your own way?
Focus on what you can control.
Then take the first step.
I’ll see you on the other side.

You keep ending up in the same place.
Same conflict. Same reaction. Same version of yourself you promised you’d leave behind.
It isn’t because something is wrong with you. It’s because nobody ever gave you a map.

This is a tool I created to help you understand exactly what’s happening inside you so you can stop reacting and start choosing.

She looked in the mirror one day and thought, “I don’t even know who I am anymore.”
Maybe that’s you. Maybe it’s me.
That’s exactly why I created this 5-part Enneagram series.
Because midlife has a way of stripping away all the roles we’ve been playing and asks us the one question we’ve been too busy to answer:
“Who am I really?”
We are talking Gut, Heart, and Head.
Three completely different ways of moving through the world.
And once you understand which one is yours, everything starts to make a little more sense.
The full series is alive on YouTube.
