🎶 My Life’s Soundtrack — 1986: The Beginning
This is where it all started.
Born April 17, 1986…
A baby in someone’s arms with no idea what the journey ahead would look like.
But one thing that would always be there?
Music.
The late 80s were full of funk, early hip-hop, and smooth R&B that played in the background of living rooms, cars, and family gatherings.
Those sounds became part of my DNA before I even knew what a record was.
1986 was the era of culture shifting.
Movies like She’s Gotta Have It were redefining storytelling, and hip-hop groups like Whodini were pushing the culture forward.
Two records from that year stand out in the soundtrack of my life:
🎧 “Pee-Wee’s Dance” — Joeski Love
🎧 “Rumors” — Rumors
For the next 40 days leading up to my birthday, I’m sharing one year of music from my life.
The songs.
The culture.
The memories.
The soundtrack behind the man I became.
Tomorrow we move to 1987.
👇
What song reminds you of 1986?

Whats your favorite Asian snack ?
Sometimes you just gotta take a field trip for the snacks. 😅
Stopped by the Asia Food Market in Niagara Falls and grabbed a few things I’ve been wanting to try — ramen, Takis, and some boba tea flavors that looked wild.
I swear these international markets always have the most interesting stuff. Different flavors, different packaging, whole different vibe.
Low key inspiration too…
Seeing how other cultures package food and drinks always sparks ideas for products, branding, and experiences.
Creativity really is everywhere if you pay attention.
Now the real question is…
Which one should I try first? 👀

2008 London !!!
I was outside documenting DJs, collecting signatures, taping Polaroids into books like they were artifacts.
This one? DJ A-Trak. Lets talk Vinyl Records !!!
Before SYC Culture Lab. Before vinyl nights.
Before “Creative Headquarters.”
I was already archiving culture. Funny how life circles back.
Now I’m building a space in Lockport where DJs spin, vinyl lives, and moments get documented again.
Some things aren’t trends. They’re seeds.
What were you doing in 2008?its now 2026 and its time to

Sitting in a bookstore tonight and something clicked.
Watching someone read out loud to a room full of adults people actually listening reminded me how powerful real conversation is.
And it made me think about Hey Bro.
For years I’ve been having real talks about men’s mental health, emotional pressure, leadership, and what it means to build something while holding everything together.
In barbershops. At markets.
Inside SYC Culture Lab. In quiet DMs.
Maybe it’s time to turn those conversations into something structured.
Not just a book. A space. A guide. A conversation starter for men who don’t always say what they’re carrying.
If you’ve ever felt like something inside you is ready to come out maybe this is your sign too.
Hey Bro… what’s something you’ve been holding in?

Bebe’s Kids raised a generation different.
Before tablets.
Before algorithms.
Before everything felt filtered.
Outside until the streetlights came on.
Boom boxes on shoulders.
Playground by Another Bad Creation blasting.
90s babies… we built different.
What’s one cartoon or song that instantly takes you back? 👇🏾
