⚾️🌻Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez: a 70lb, 1.5 year old lap dog! There's something extra special about his giant blocky head, so the general consensus is that he's a pit bull mixed with something jumbo. We're still getting to know each other while he finishes his vet care, but I'm hopeful he'll be ready for a forever home in a couple weeks.🫶🏼

🎉Lorelai was adopted! After a chaotic first 10 months of life, she finally gets a home of her very own. Miss Lorelai has been with me through a lot, from losing Beana to rescuing Benny and extra moments in between. I watched her evolve from a stressed young mom to a needy baby girl who loved chatting about food and spring toys. She put up with so much along the way, and I'm so happy she gets to be spoiled forever.💕
Lorelai's on her way home to a kitty brother who will hopefully be very excited to meet her! Her adopter says they remind her of each other.🤎🩶 Happy tails to you all, and thank you for adopting instead of shopping.🫶🏼

🎂I finally learned more about Iris today! Iris saw the vet and has a few things to re-check during next week's spay, but otherwise she's in good health and I'm so relieved. She got her initial vaccines, some meds for her irritated mouth, and tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia. The vet says based on her teeth, Iris could be anywhere between 4-7 years old. Because I thought she looked older the first time we met over a year ago, let's just call her 7.🎂 Updates to come after her spay surgery! I love you, Iris.🌈☔️

🐾Meet the biggest Koop critter EVER. I pulled him from a facility 1 hour before a cruel fate, with the help of two incredible women who run dog-focused nonprofits. Last week, he was found running loose in the heat. His family never claimed him, and no one stepped up to foster him. He was running out of time in a place we rarely see pits/pit mixes come out alive. All the rescues and shelters are full. Resources are strapped, including my own. But I knew I could be the one to change his life. Give fostering a chance, y'all. You don't have to help several at once or have a revolving door of critters (trust me, I'm not the best example at times). But fostering even just one animal one time makes a difference.🐾
Thank you to Heather and Deb's Dogs for making his rescue possible and for surprising me with much-needed supplies.🫶🏼 Grateful to be a part of this little rescue village.

A moment of calm during this *heatwave*.🤦🏽♀️ Iris is feeling a bit burdened by her hormones lately. Okay, that's putting it lightly. She's yowling and presenting and doing all the things that tell me she's definitely not spayed. One more reason why I'm thankful she's inside now! The 10-day stray hold ends tomorrow, and the vet has an opening for Iris's first appointment in a few days. Looking forward to getting this girl on track!

The OGs🐄 Minnie and Maisy don't cuddle as much as they used to, so these moments are extra special.
