Hello Liberty - Andre Blanchard here, one of your Selectboard members and an Air Force veteran, and I am trying to organize all Liberty and surrounding area veterans to march in the Liberty Memorial Day Parade, next Monday. Please reach out to me at (207) 233-3952 for details! Please pass this to any other vets in the area that may not be on Facebook. We would line up for the parade at 10:30.
When I was in high school, CC Banks and Ray brought the first televisions to Liberty and had a set playing in the new showroom window! I lived with Ray and Pearl and lots of afternoons Doug, Sis,Pearl and I would walk down to "Grandpa's store". He was so proud of those kids!

This Maine cabin is a time capsule

Shared from CALL’s page:
It is with great sadness that CALL announces the passing of its long-serving leader, Linda Breslin on November 3, 2022. Linda served as board president for over 20 years. She was the proud owner/caretaker of an historic island property in Lake Saint George, and the moving force behind numerous lake/town projects, notably a watershed survey in 2003 that identified major threats to water quality, the recent repair of dams for both Lake Saint George and Stevens Pond and the establishment of a no-cost summer experience -- Lake Keepers Camp -- teaching area youth about the preserving water quality in our lakes and ponds. Needless to say, Linda will be greatly missed. A more extensive tribute will follow.

This Maine cabin is a time capsule Linda Breslin, who owns an island cabin on Lake St. George in Liberty, Maine, has maintained her 1897 camp with the ambience of the early 1900s. Breslin love...

The Northern Lights may move farther south into the mainland U.S. this week

We’ve got a chance of seeing the Northern Lights tonight and Friday! Fingers crossed that the clouds move out in time for us to have a glimpse.

The Northern Lights may move farther south into the mainland U.S. this week The Northern Lights, known scientifically as auroras borealis, are triggered by geomagnetic activity from the sun. They typically occur closer to the North Pole, near Alaska and Canada.

Midcoast group must raise $475K to save beloved mountain from development

“They [Friends of Haystack Mountain] raised $25,000 just among themselves. For the rest, due by Dec. 20, they need to broaden their scope. They will be fundraising and applying for grants, and likely will need to take out loans to make up the difference. Once it’s acquired, the friends group plans to donate the parcel to a land trust and keep it in blueberry production.” Please share!

This Saturday only the open hours for Liberty's old octagonal post office are reduced so we can support a neighbor in her time of loss. Thank you for your understanding. We are a small town that comes together in both the good and hard times.
We look forward to seeing you a little later in the afternoon.
