Allegro Dance Project

We had such a blast dancing & drumming with our friends at Kentucky School for the Deaf yesterday and dancing & rocking out on the electric guitar with our friends at Key Assets KY this morning! 🥰 In the summer we spend a ton of time + energy rehearsing & creating a brand new show, which is so so fun! But there’s truly nothing better than getting to move & groove with our dance friends!

1st day in the studio + our 1st photo shoot with Ryan Peters for our all new show “Expressions”! Plus, our new Apprentice dancers had their 1st photo shoot ever! Missing some of the squad today….but so nice to be back at it & back together again! 🥰

Tomorrow we have our first photo shoot with Ryan Peters for our all new show “Expressions” & we couldn’t be more excited! In the meantime, let’s take a dance down memory lane at some of our favorite shoots over the years.

We’re so excited to partner with Gatton Park to offer FREE Inclusive Dance Outreach sessions in the park this summer! And as a Cultural Pass activity, you can even take LexTran for free to get to the park!

WHEN: Mondays 7:00-7:45, June 29th - July 27th

WHAT: dance classes on June 29th, July 6th, July 13th & July 20th + on July 27th enjoy an inside look at our new show “Expressions” with a short performance preview, a Q&A with some of the cast & some guided improvisation movement

WHERE: on the stage at Gatton Park
(or in the attached community room in case of extreme heat or stormy weather)

WHO: sessions are fully inclusive for all abilities - including dancers with Down Syndrome, autism spectrum disorder or other specific needs- ages 5 & up

NOTE:

*you may wish to bring a yoga mat or towel for stretching

Wrapping up our spring 2026 outreach programming with so much JOY! 🥰

This week our Inclusive Dance Outreach visited: Brenda Cowan Elementary Pre-K, Creekside Elementary, Jessie Clark Middle, Millcreek Elementary, Rise STEM, Faith Lutheran Pre-K, Henry Clay High, Mary Todd Elementary Pre-K and Southern Middle.

It’s been such a fun & impactful year and we’re so thankful for every one of our program sites + their amazing team of teachers & support staff and we are incredibly proud of all 1,500+ of our students for their hard work, creative energy and all the sweet giggles we’ve shared together this school year! Stay tuned for a bit of upcoming summer outreach and a whole lot of show prep as we create our all new show “Expressions”!

If your child has participated in our Inclusive Dance Outreach, Healthy Movements Dance Classes or Adaptive Dance Classes this past year, we are very excited to invite them to perform in our all new summer performance titled Expressions at the Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center August 7th -9th!

You’ll receive a receipt copy of your form, which lists the full rehearsal schedule. We know summers are busy, but we encourage your dancer to attend as many rehearsals as possible so they feel comfortable & confident on stage.
