Core Values Recovery
Core Values Recovery helps people and their families on their journey to long-term recovery.
With data showing that it takes a year to achieve lasting recovery, we provide comprehensive year-long digital programs tailored to fit into our clients’ lives.
Recovery asks families to let go of control, but not of values. Keep honesty, steadiness, and the next right step.
Someone can be in crisis and you can still have a life today. That is not abandonment. It is recovery for the family too.
Detachment does not mean you stop loving them. It means you stop handing your life to the addiction.
You can grieve someone who is still alive. Addiction changes the relationship, and families need space to tell the truth about that.
After relapse, keep it short: I am glad you told me. I want you safe. We need to call the team.
Do not build the relapse plan at 3 AM. Build it in daylight, before fear is driving every decision.
Relapse is information. It tells the team what the plan did not yet cover.
A boundary does not need a courtroom argument. Sometimes the sentence is: I love you, and I am not going to do that.
The enabling test is simple: does this help the person move toward recovery, or help the addiction avoid consequences?
You are allowed to say: I am not going to answer that right now. A pause can protect the boundary.
