Note that registration for the â¤Pie-Eating Contest⤠is in-person on the day of the Festival, at the Information Table in front of the Town Park beginning at the conclusion of the Memorial Ceremony. It is first-come, first-served. A waiver is required and youth must have parental permission to participate.

Todayâs spotlight is Paramedic Francis Rath of the Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad (LCVRS)! âď¸
Paramedic Rath has been a member of the Loudoun County Combined Rescue System (LC-CFRS) for 31 years, plus an additional 14 years with Fairfax County. He has held many roles, including Assistant Chief and EMS Battalion Chief, as well as being appointed by the Board of Supervisors as a Fire and Rescue Commissioner. Paramedic Rath was recently awarded the Length of Service Award for 30 years with LC-CFRS and the Hall of Fame Award during the 2024 System Awards and Recognition Ceremony. The Length of Service Award is presented every quinquennial anniversary after 25 years and above, and the Hall of Fame Award, sponsored by the Fire Operations Committee (FOC) and EMS Operations Committee (EMSOC), recognizes system members for fire, EMS or direct contributors for outstanding achievement for their many years of service and/or outstanding contributions furthering the advancement of the fire and EMS service in Loudoun County.
Paramedic Rath taught Advanced Life Support (ALS) courses, State, and National Registry testing at the LC-CFRS Training Academy. He has also served as an ALS Preceptor since 2004. He has assisted with protocol, policies, and general directive reviews, as well as worked with the EMS Division on many of the ALS drug cards used by students and EMS field providers. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Paramedic Rath supervised the Medical Reserve Corp as a member of the Health Department and worked closely with LC-CFRS in the planning, coordination, and dissemination of COVID-19 vaccinations. These few examples reflect his outstanding contributions that furthered the advancement of fire and EMS services in , earning him the Hall of Fame Award.

Volunteering with the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System

Todayâs spotlight is TL Technician Jesse Michaud of the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company (SVFC)! âď¸
TL Technician Michaud has been a member of the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System (LC-CFRS) since 2013 and was most recently awarded the System Chiefâs Commendation during the 2024 System Awards and Recognition Ceremony. The System Chiefâs Commendation recognizes a system member who has distinguished themselves by exceptional service and performance during a single act of merit. This award recognizes a system member who displayed critical decision-making abilities or engaged in similarly noteworthy actions that contributed to the successful outcome of an incident or project.
TL Technician Michaud received this award, alongside Battalion Chief Brent Harne, for his support of Firefighter Brownâs family following the catastrophic home explosion on Silver Ridge Drive in February 2024. While providing support and showing dedication, professionalism, and compassion for the family, TL Technician Michaud was also working tirelessly on additional projects for the System, as well as balancing the responsibilities of his full-time job and family.

This week we pay tribute to the dedicated volunteers within the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System (LC-CFRS). Happy National Volunteer Week!

Congratulations to Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System (LC-CFRS) Volunteer Lieutenant Marybeth Henry of the Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad on receiving a prestigious award from the Loudoun County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office during their Victims' Services Awards Ceremony on Friday, April 11.
We are proud to have her as a volunteer and role model in LC-CFRS.

Today, March 15, these 25 new members completed a full day hands-on orientation that includes CPR and is one of the first steps in their journey as a volunteer member. Welcome to the team and we can't wait to see all the great things you will do!

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the tragic Silver Ridge Drive incident. Members of LC-CFRS and the community mourn the loss of Firefighter Trevor Brown and our thoughts are with everyone who was impacted that day.
Please join us as we remember Firefighter Trevor Brown of the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company (SVFC). Firefighter Brown tragically lost his life in the line of duty during a catastrophic home explosion in the 300 block of Silver Ridge Drive in Sterling on the evening of Friday, February 16, 2024. Firefighter Brown joined the SVFC in May of 2016 and was assigned to the Friday night crew.
We are committed to honoring his memory and vow to never forget his sacrifice and the sacrifice of his family.
Help us fill the auditorium for our Volunteer Recruitment Video's graduation! The Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System invites YOU to be an extra in the filming of our new Volunteer Recruitment video that will be used to help recruit new volunteer firefighters and EMTs to serve !
Join us at S.L. Simpson Middle School's Auditorium (490 Evergreen Mill Rd SE, Leesburg, VA 20175) on Saturday, February 15, 2025, to play an audience member in a Mock Graduation Ceremony. Check in is from 8:00 a.m. -9:00 a.m., with filming taking place from 9:00 a.m. until approximately Noon. All audience members should dress appropriately for a graduation ceremony celebrating their loved one. All attendees will need to sign a waiver prior to being allowed entrance into the filming area.

Our Story
Loudoun County Fire-Rescue provides volunteer and career first responder coverage in Loudoun County. We are constantly recruiting persons who are interested in bettering themselves and their community by becoming a volunteer firefighter, EMT, or administrative member. No experience necessary and we provide all training at no cost to our career and volunteer personnel. We also provide various benefits such as tax waivers, college reimbursement, and retirement benefits. Volunteers run out of multiple stations throughout Loudoun County. This is a great opportunity for persons interested in the medical and public safety field, wish to improve their health, want to give back to their community, become a part of their community, or have a desire to make a difference in someoneâs life.
