Today HealthWorks was honored to welcome members of Virginia Senator Tim Kaine’s team to our Leesburg center – Senior Health Policy Advisor Samantha Koehler and Regional Director Rachel Reibach.

We enjoyed a robust discussion about the challenges and opportunities facing Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) like HealthWorks, and we shared our vision for a healthier future for the residents of Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. We also gave them a tour of our Leesburg location, including our new Radiology Department that opened earlier this year.

Samantha and Rachel were engaged, supportive, and eager to learn more. All of us at HealthWorks are grateful to them and Senator Kaine for their commitment to understanding and improving our community's health needs. We are already looking forward to our next discussion with this team.

HAPPENING NOW: Registration is now open for our Free School Physicals events for uninsured children who are not HealthWorks patients.

To qualify, students must attend a Virginia school and be between the ages of 3-18. HealthWorks will provide immunizations, tuberculosis screenings dental screenings, and vision and hearing exams. No sports physicals will be available.

HealthWorks for Northern Virginia will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Our health centers will reopen on Friday, July 5, at 8 a.m. We wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July.

HealthWorks was a proud participant in last weekend’s Women Giving Back Kids Extravaganza event. Nearly 200 families came to obtain quality clothing. HealthWorks taught the children and their parents the importance of good dental hygiene and distributed goodie bags so that they can practice what they learned. We are grateful to Women Giving Back for including us in this event!

HealthWorks for Northern Virginia is offering free school physicals to uninsured children ages 3-18 at multiple events this summer. With your generous support, we can make sure they are healthy AND are equipped with the school supplies they need:

• $25 will purchase a backpack
• $50 will provide a backpack filled with school supplies

Because of your gifts, local students will have the notebooks, folders, pencils, and crayons they need to make a great start to the new school year. Your gift will make a difference in the lives of so many children in our community.

He is board-certified in pediatrics and has expertise in ADHD/ADD evaluations, asthma care, developmental screenings, newborn care, and nutrition counseling. Evening hours are available. HealthWorks was proud to participate in the Juneteenth Celebration at the Sully Historic Site yesterday, a commemoration of emancipation that featured storytelling, family activities, food, and tours. We are especially grateful to our team members who braved the extreme heat to meet members of the community and offer blood pressure screenings and weight checks.

Today we recognize Juneteenth, a day to commemorate freedom and celebrate justice for all.

Thank you to the Northern Virginia Health Foundation for awarding this grant to HealthWorks. We are so proud of our partnership with this organization and the amazing work we do together.

. HealthWorks for Northern Virginia had a blast at last weekend’s Loudoun Pride event. A big thank you to our team members who volunteered at the event and shared a key part of our mission — to provide healthcare that is accessible to all.

. HealthWorks Human Resources Director Rochelle Fashaw delights in the Girl Scout cookies donated by Girl Scouts Nation's Capital Troop 51116. This Herndon-based troop donated 80 boxes of cookies for members of our team. We know they will delight in the Thin Mints, Samosas, Tagalongs, and other delicious treats in those boxes. Thank you to Troop 51116 for bringing smiles and happy tummies to our wonderful staff.
