Mastery Jiu-Jitsu was honored to do an exhibition last Sunday at the Loudoun Latino Festival in Leesburg!💥
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is not as popular as traditional martial arts like Tae Kwon Do, so we were happy to introduce this effective self-defense art to the Latino community.🤙
Congratulations to our kids Nicolas, Eli, Skye, Leena, Alex and Luke who did an amazing job executing the moves.😎
Especial thanks to Professor Jason Thompson who brought the mats and was an excellent uke for Professor Marco Moreno.🙏

Mastery Jiu-Jitsu hosted a successful Free Women’s Self-Defense Workshop last Saturday!💥
This was a Women in Government initiative spearheaded by Leesburg’s Mayor Kelly Burk and town council member Kari Nacy. They were both present at the event.🙏
The participants did great practicing simple and effective techniques to defend common attacks standing and on the ground.👊
We’d like to invite the women in our community to join our Warrior Women program where we teach our complete system and we make sure you develop the reflexes needed to execute the moves efficiently in a self-defense altercation. 😎

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu was developed primarily as an art for self-defense, and as such it has strikes from different positions. 😎With the popularity of the sport aspect of Jiu-Jitsu (grappling with no strikes), powerful techniques like the up kick shown in the video have been forgotten in most Jiu-Jitsu schools nowadays. 🤔At Mastery Jiu-Jitsu beginner students start with our Combat Basics program where they first learn to use fundamental techniques to be successful in a street fight.🙌. We are excited to announce that Mastery Jiu-Jitsu in partnership with the Town of Leesburg will offer a Free Women’s Self-Defense Workshop on Saturday, May 3rd from 3 pm to 5 pm. 💪
The event is open to all the women in our community as part of the Women in Government initiative originated by Mayor Kelly Burk and Councilwoman Kari Nacy.😎
The workshop is designed for absolute beginners, no previous experience is needed to participate and is open to female students ages 12 and up. 🤜🤛

Congratulations to our student Nathaniel on winning double gold (Gi and No-Gi) yesterday at the first ever Jiu-Jitsu competition in Leesburg!🥋🔥
He had some tough matches but push through to secure victory, including some cool submissions.👊
When Mastery Jiu-Jitsu opened its doors in Leesburg in 2011, we knew there was going to be a day where a Jiu-Jitsu competition will come to town, made it a reality. 😎
We were happy to be part of the event!🤙
Mastery Jiu-Jitsu’s lineage traces back to GM Helio Gracie, same as Valente Brothers Jiu-Jitsu.
The techniques shown in this video are also part of our self-defense curriculum for men and women.
