At our most recent party, our bass player convinced people that if water skiing with a boat is good, then, surely, it would be better if there were some other vehicle that could go faster - especially if it could pull more than one person at the same time.
So he convinced some intrepid souls to put on their skis and get in the water while he prepped the band’s airplane by tying many very long strands of rope to the tail section.
After taking off, he swooped over the lagoon, ropes trailing below for the adventurous party-goers to grab. It took a few tries and some would-be water skiers wound up in the palm trees. But before we knew it, he was pulling 11 people across the water at about 125 knots. It was great! It was also really dark so we lost sight of them as they exited the lagoon and headed towards open sea, but we expect him and most of them to return soon. So everybody’s gear is loaded on the caravan and we are heading to Leesburg to play MacDowell's Beach along with special guest Valerie Irons this afternoon - see you there at 5 PM!
