CSM Faculty Spotlight: Meet Brian Cambrel (Clarinet, Saxophone & Composition)!
Brian began his musical journey early in his life, in his hometown of Woodbridge, Virginia. At age 12, he learned to play the clarinet as part of his middle school band. After entering high school, he discovered a true passion for musical composition and arrangement, which propelled him into further study. Having attained both a Bachelor's and Master's in Music Composition while remaining active as a performer and educator, Brian truly embodies the life and passion of an artist-educator who "lives" what he teaches!
Brian is an entrepreneur, a staff arranger for several high school marching bands in Frederick County, MD, a freelance musician, and serves as on our Clarinet and Saxophone faculty at CSM and also offers private instruction in music theory, music composition, and music arranging! Brian is also on the faculty at Shepherd University, where he teaches courses in music theory and electronic music, as well as courses in applied composition and orchestration.
Brian also actively gigs with his country-folk-rock-blues trio, Cowpoke.
Did you know Brian enjoyed a stint in Los Angeles where he studied video game scoring with Michael Reagan and Ron Fish?

We are excited to launch a new "Spotlight" series on our incredible Faculty and Staff at CSM! Over the next weeks we'll be highlighting each of our instructors who make up the core of our CSM family.
//
We wouldn't be able to properly launch off this series without starting with our visionaries, founders and owners, Wayne and Jennene Estes! Did you know that CSM (originally named "Wayne's World Music"!) was started in the basement studio of their home as a small, private home lessons studio over 25+ years ago? From humble beginnings as a private home lessons studio and many years and blessings later, Wayne and Jennene have helped guide and grow CSM to include a family of nearly 25+ staff who offer weekly instruction on nearly every instrument, including voice, to hundreds of students from all across Loudoun County (and beyond) online and in-person at our dedicated lessons facility in the heart of historic Leesburg, VA! Learn more about Wayne and Jennene's journey and background by visiting the links below!

Join LSYO for a brass masterclass with NSO's Robert Rearden this Monday at 7pm Leesburg Community Church.
What can I learn from watching a masterclass for an instrument I don't play?
Oh, we are glad you asked! Music is universal. Learning from any professional musician is a gift. How to breath when we play and how we shape phrases, how we hold our bodies and communicate the music to our audiences, these are all things addressed in masterclasses. It doesn't matter if you're a pianist or a dulcimer player, there is a lot to learn and enjoy.
Free and open to the public.
