Town Hall is now preparing Welcome Kits for new families that are moving into our community.
Our Welcome Kits feature and direct these new families to a small number of local businesses for the goods, services & professionals that they need to find.
Since our Welcome Kits are exclusive, and we can only accommodate one Veterinarian, I would ask you to kindly let me know if you are interested in being the featured Veterinarian in our local Welcome Kits.
It is worthy to note that, according to Dr. Cathy Goodwin in her book “Making the Big Move”, 55% of new residents and families seek out a new Veterinarian shortly after their relocation. As such, more than one-half of our Welcome Kit recipients are actively looking for a new Vet.
I would like to schedule a time when you are expecting me so that I may drop off a sample of our "Welcome Kit" and explain the program in greater detail.
Please reply to this email with your availability or call me at your earliest convenience.
For a faster response, or if you prefer, feel free to text me on my cell which is listed in my signature.
Thanks.

We provide state-of-the art medical care for animals so they and their families can lead better and

Every October, the industry takes a week to celebrate veterinary technicians! This year, we would like to talk to you all about them: who they are, what they do, and why they are so awesome. Spoiler alert: we could not do this without them!
First, because not everyone is 100% sure on this: What actually is a vet tech?
A credentialed veterinary nurse! First, they graduate from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited program (with BAS or AAS degrees in hand) and then sit for their state specific exam to become boarded. Here in Virginia, they must maintain yearly licensing with the Va Dept. of Health after meeting the required amount of continuing education each year. Their college education not only includes the usual suspects, but also includes things like pathology, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, anesthesia, radiology, and more! Every LVT regardless of their specialty learns all aspects of veterinary medicine. Even if you only want to work with horses, you still have to learn about hamsters!
At graduation, these newly hatched veterinary technicians take an oath. This Oath is their promise to all of us that no matter what, they will leave everything they have at the paws, hooves, and toe beans of the animals they get to take care of.
Tonight we ask you help us share this oath! Share so everyone can help us spoil our own LVTs by including your story about how a vet tech (does not have to be just ours, but we love praise for ours), has helped you and your pet live a better life.

Please help us win our bragging rights! Vote for Team LVIM! 🐰 🌸

Good morning!
It appears our phones are acting up this morning. We are actively working on fixing them but we can not access any voicemails and phone calls ring for a second and hang up. In the meantime, you can contact us via email - [email protected]
Thank you!

Some interesting things happening here today at Internal Medicine! We ended up finding two squirrels likely dropped from a nest that are super friendly. We’ve been feeding them and hoping momma is near by, if no sight of her is found they will be off to the rehabilitation center since they can’t quite function on their own yet. (They would not leave your feet and could not climb the tree without falling) super super cute though 😍

Winnie The Pooch 😍 this little munchkin is being treated for giardia. She sure is cute!

Dr. Lester is originally from upstate NY. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University and performed both rotating and specialty (Internal Medicine) internships at Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Services in Rochester NY. Following completion of her internships, she pursued a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Florida that was completed in July 2020. Her primary areas of interest are endocrinology, nephrology, urology and immune-mediated disease, though she enjoys all aspects of internal medicine. Dr. Lester lives with her husband and three domestic short-hair cats (Merlin, Luna and Indy). She enjoys cooking (particularly exploring pasta making and traditional French techniques), knitting, reading and playing the ukulele. She is excited to start the next chapter of her veterinary career with the VCA's Leesburg Veterinary Internal Medicine team!
Hello,
Happy Wednesday. Just a reminder that LVIM will be closed Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. Please give us a call for any refills today or tomorrow if you will be out by Friday or the weekend.
Thank you!

Meet One of Our Multi-faceted Employees:
Amanda (Mandy) Hanley, Purchaser/ Inventory Manager for Animal Emergency Crtitical Care and Tech assistant for Leesburg Veterinary Internal Medicine. Mandy began her career in October of 2011 when she was a technician's assistant for Leesburg Veterinary Internal Medicine. In September of 2015, she saw the opportunity to grow her career and became the Team Leader for Veterinary Radiology Associates. In October of 2018, after Veterinary Radiology Associates no longer had a doctor, she transitioned back onto the Internal Medicine Department team and often helps out the Emergency Team as well.
Mandy's favorite part about working here is that she feels that we practice great medicine and really enjoys working with everyone, but most of all she loves helping animals.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids outside: hiking and gardening. Mandy also enjoys spending time with extended family and friends. Mandy has a few fuzzy children as well, She refers to Yah Yah (a 14 year old cattle dog mix) as her first "baby", Eek is her parakeet , and Strawberry Glitter Sparkles the family's sassy Lion Head rabbit.

Iggy had some initial anxiety but that quickly passed and he was super playful and talkative. Iggy came in for having decreased appetite and weight loss and we are pending test and searching for the cause. Such a cute little guy!

Good Morning!
Dr. Miller will be out of the office next week. If your pet is one of her patients and you notice you are running low on medications please try to call in a refill today or tomorrow ahead of time for her to refill it for you.
Of course, Dr. Justin will be here next week and can address any urgent needs or temporary refills until Dr. Miller is back in the office! Take care and keep your paws dry today. ☔️🐶🐱

Is this not the cutest Mastiff puppy you’ve seen?! 😭😍🥰 those little baby teeth. Dr. Miller is going to get her all fixed up for her chronic UTI’s. She’s only 17 weeks and gained 15lbs in one week lol she’s gonna be a big girl! 😂❤️

Some Golden love today!! Teddy has chronic issues with giardia and was seen by Dr. Justin today.... but, Dr. Justin and his knowledge aside, Teddy mainly just came for pets and belly scratches... 🤔❤️😉

Stitch is just the cutest!!! He loves everyone 😂❤️

This is KC, a little yorkiepoo we got to meet last week when she was hospitalized with the emergency department and needing a consult with an internist. KC was diagnosed with anemia/thrombocytopenia/neutropenia and suspect immune mediated pancytopenia. Her neutropenia has improved and we are awaiting her bloodwork results today from her recheck. She quickly stole our hearts, she’s the sweetest girl!
Hello all, Happy Tuesday! We will be closed Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Please reach out for any refills this week with at least a 24 hour notice. 🙂 Thank you!

Jake is such a handsome boy! 🐾 he sees Dr. Miller to manage his nasal disease, which he seems to have adequate control of due to his medication regimen! ❤️ We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during these trying times!

Look how cute this kitten is!! Church was seen today for lack of weight gain and he is now on a regimen to gain weight and reevaluate. He loved hiding behind his technicians computer ❤️

Cute Brody waking up from his anesthesia after his bronchoscopy. ❤️
