While supporting various missions, I was fortunate to have provided medical care at home and abroad in 21 different countries, sometimes in austere environments. These experiences, though enjoyable on their own, certainly have made me appreciate all that we have here in our own country and make me proud to have been a part of our great military community."

Timeline photos 03/16/2022

We have cyclical periods of sleepiness and alertness throughout the day, these are due to our circadian rhythm. Typically, most people only have two peak periods of tiredness during a 24-hour period, around 2am and 2pm. Our circadian clock has an internally driven 24-hour rhythm that tends to run slightly longer than the 24 hours in a day, it resets every day by the sun's light/dark cycle, another reason why bright lights affect us having a good night's sleep.

Timeline photos 03/14/2022

The amount of sleep we need per day/night decreases as we age. It is important to note that every individual is different, and your need for sleep may be different from someone your own age. However, you should be getting a balance of good quality and quantity of sleep every night. Meaning you should be waking up feeling refreshed in the morning and have enough energy to complete your day's activities!
