Lamole di Lamole draws its name and its character from the enchanting valley first discovered and cultivated by the Romans, and where these fine Chianti Classico wines were born. Selected from exclusive lines of grapes, shaped by the valley’s unique microclimate, and crafted in the cellars of an ancient castle, the wines of Lamole di Lamole offer exceptional flavors that complement the finest traditional meals and which only get better with age.

The 35th anniversary vintage available in store
Located on top of a hill facing the Tyrrhenian Sea between Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri, the winery was founded by Piermario Meletti Cavallari, an adventurous entrepreneur who followed Mario Incisa della Rocchetta’s footsteps to Bolgheri in 1977.
It took them five years to build the winery and revitalize the long-neglected vineyards with care and newly planted Bordeaux varietals. In 1982 the winery released its first vintage by blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese, three years ahead of Ornellaia’s first vintage release.
Its 35th anniversary release is celebrated with a special bottle release with the number 35 scrolling across its front label. Made from 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 15% Sangiovese, the same blend in the inaugural vintage, the wine is among among the best examples to represent the estate’s commitment to producing elegant and balanced wines, considering the 2017 vintage was not the easiest vintage to work with, according to Marrone.

Join us to discover the beautiful meat selection of my friend Filippo Gambassi.
"For over 120 years, the Gambassi have continued their family tradition of producing homemade cured products based on the oldest recipes handed down from father to son. Our main goal is to bring to your table the ancient flavor of the past, preserved over time thanks to the homemade work of our salumieri. Genuine control and absolute respect are essential to produce our traditional products. A very strict quality control makes the perfect relationship between the flavors of the past and the knowledge of today.
Since he was a child Filippo Gambassi, the fifth generation of the Gambassi family, learned from his father Giulio the secrets of this art and still now he works to keep this knowledge intact with full respect and dedication in order to preserve the artisan tradition of Terra di Siena using the same method of producing cured meats both in Italy and in the States." Tolaini Valdisanti Toscana 2019 - $37.99 promo $29.99
Blend: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Cabernet Franc
Youthful, rich dark fruit, berry and cassis aromas meld with notable French oak spice. On the palate, Valdisanti is full-bodied with deep but reserved fruit flavors framed by rich oak. The excellent balance of fruit intensity with fine tannins indicates a cellar worthy wine.
Critical Acclaim
94 James Suckling
Pretty aromas and flavors of currants, asphalt and bark fill the glass. It’s medium-to full-bodied with creamy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Unfiltered. Drink in 2024 and onwards.
94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
From the estate's Tenuta San Giovanni Vineyard, this is a blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc aged in oak for 16 months. The Tolaini 2019 Valdisanti is quite generous and rich, with thick layers of dark fruit, black cherry, pencil shaving, tar and licorice. Best After 2022

Well-suited to the production of concentrated, fruity and spicy red varieties, Puglia is one of Italy’s warmest, most southerly regions. Its entire eastern side is one long coastline bordering the Adriatic Sea. About half way down, the region becomes the Salento Peninsula. This peninsula, bordered by water on three sides, receives moist, nighttime, sea breezes that bring a welcome cooling effect to the region, where little rain creates a challenging environment for its vines. In fact, the region is named for the Italian expression, “a pluvia,” meaning “lack of rain.”. GVino Enoteca

Abruzzo - L'Aquila
Zafferano (Saffron) - The production zone of PDO saffron includes a clearly defined area in the Province of L’Aquila. (…) It is mainly the saffron which has made a name for itself over time, imposing, distinguishable, especially thanks to the excellence of its fragrance in cooking. Zafferano dell’Aquila is sold as such in Italy and Northern Europe thereby enhancing the fame of Abruzzo culinary art. For centuries saffron represented one of the traditional sources of employment and income for the hinterland on a par with sheep breeding and their transportation along the tratturo (sheep track) which runs from Abruzzo to Puglia, and the sale of wool. Cascina del Colle, Negus, Montepuciano D'Abruzzo Grape: Montepulciano
Montepulciano is the second most planted red variety in Italy after Sangiovese, though it achieves its highest potential in the region of Abruzzo. Consistently enticing and enjoyable, Montepulciano enjoys great popularity throughout central and southern Italy as well. A tiny bit grows with success in California, Argentina and Australia. Somm Secret—Montepulciano is also the name of a village in Tuscany where, confusingly, they don’t grow the Montepulciano grape at all! Sangiovese shines in yet another Tuscan village, here making the reputable wine called Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. GVino Enoteca

Lazio - Roma
Guanciale (pronounced gwan-cha-leh) is a triangular cured meat from a pig’s jowl, with one or two cross veins of lean meat. It is different from pancetta, which comes from the pig’s belly. Guanciale is aged at least 3 months after being lightly rubbed with salt and covered with ground black pepper or chili pepper. In Lazio, garlic is also used. It has a harder consistency than pancetta and a more distinctive flavor. https://www.lacucinaitaliana.com/ Guanciale is a key ingredient in traditional roman pasta dishes such as Carbonara, Amatriciana, Gricia.

Known as the ancient homeland of the Latins, today there is a vigorus wine industry beyond the city limits of modern, bustling Rome. The Cesanese grape, full of red berry, spice and rose, is responsible for Lazio’s only true local reds. Toscana – Firenze
Bistecca alla Fiorentina - The name bistecca comes from the British term "beef-steak" and according to writer Maria Luisa Incontri, its history in Florence goes back to 1565, specifically March 23 in San Lorenzo square. To celebrate the wedding of Paolo Orsino and Isabella, daughter of the Duke of Florence, a whole ox was roasted in Piazza San Lorenzo and distributed to the people. Florence at the time of the Medici was a major crossroads for travellers. They say some English knights were at the celebrations in the square, and at the sight of those steaks they started to shout: "beef-steak! beef-steak!". (…) Bistecca alla Fiorentina is taken from the loin of the young steer (vitellone) and has a “T” shaped bone with the fillet on one side and the sirloin on the other. Ceretto, Barolo - Grape: Nebbiolo
The center of the production of the world’s most exclusive and age-worthy red wines made from Nebbiolo, the Barolo wine region includes five core townships: La Morra, Monforte d’Alba, Serralunga d’Alba, Castiglione Falletto and the Barolo village itself, as well as a few outlying villages. The landscape of Barolo, characterized by prominent and castle-topped hills, is full of history and romance centered on the Nebbiolo grape. Its wines, with the signature “tar and roses” aromas, have a deceptively light garnet color but full presence on the palate and plenty of tannins and acidity. In a well-made Barolo wine, one can expect to find complexity and good evolution with notes of, for example, strawberry, cherry, plum, leather, truffle, anise, fresh and dried herbs, to***co and violets (GVino Enoteca)

Today we are tasting this beautiful Greek white wine 🇬🇷
Mediterranean charm 🌞
Plano Malagousia by Wine Art Estate is a wine that manages to maintain its role at the table, perfectly matching plenty of dishes from the Mediterranean cuisine, without sacrificing the well-known extroversion of the variety. A balanced and at the same time expressive Malagousia that can play all roles, moving along the tasting area between the explosiveness of Techni Alipias white and the austerity of Plano Assyrtiko.
The label featuring a drawing compass and the name ‘Plano’, ‘Plan’ in Greek, remind us of the two founders of the Estate, civil engineer Giannis Papadopoulos and architect engineer Giannis Kalaitzidis.

The wine is released after 6 months in the bottle.
What is Pinot Grigio Ramato?
This type of white wine is much darker than your traditional Pinot Grigio. It gets its copper-like hue because the crushed Pinot Grigio grapes have been allotted a certain amount of time to macerate in their juices. The word ramato originates from the word “rame” — “copper” in Italian.

Straw yellow color, fine and constant bubbles, clean and bright, with golden reflections. The nose reveals a subtle aromatic intensity with fresh and sweet aromas. Honey flowers, citrus notes, white fruit, and balsamic herbs such as fennel.
In the mouth the acidity is well balanced, with delicate bitter notes to the finish and a set of ripe fruits and balsamic nuances.
WHAT IS CORPINNAT?
A new category of sparkling wine—Corpinnat—is emerging in Spain, spearheaded by a number of small producers who’ve broken ties with the Cava DO. Created in 1972, the Cava DO produces some 250 million bottles of sparkling wine a year.
Over the last decade, several attempts have been made by smaller Cava producers to distinguish themselves from larger-volume productions and to elevate the category.
The Association of Wine Producers and Growers Corpinnat, formed in 2015 and ratified by the EU in late 2017, is a sparkling-wine association that takes into account the entire production of a producer rather than just individual wines.
Corpinnat producers must make wines from 100 percent organic, sustainable vineyards that have been harvested by hand. The wines must be made within the Corpinnat territory, entirely vinified on their winery premises, aged for a minimum of 18 months, and they must contain a minimum of 90 percent indigenous grapes.

“Wine improves with age. The older I get, the better I like it.” 😉🍷
