It’s finally finished! My nephew Harley, who was a puppy in this picture but is all grown up now.

Getting some of the coat done, I can only do small increments at a time because the details require a lot of mental focus 😰

I always like to share progression pictures to show my process. Lucy done in charcoal. I love that a drawing or painting starts with weird almost scary lines and then evolves into something recognizable.

Meet the beautiful “Lucy” she is a “Frenchton” a mix of a French bulldog and a Boston terrier. This portrait was done in charcoal.

So excited to start the freckles on his nose 😸💕

My drawings always start out so strange, with only the eyes filled in, it looks like it will be disproportionate, as if the eyes will end up being too big for the face, but then with some shading and detailing it ends up coming together in the end.

Finally finished! My silly pup Murphy, he always looks suspicious and is always ready to play! He is like living with a real live buffalo, so gentle but not aware of how clunky he is, wouldn’t change him for anything!!
