For the cut and paste, they painted a wash of various colors and painted random designs on top in the opposite color of the wash. Then today they cut them up and created a simplistic scene with it!
The Community Foundation of Boone County is proud to support arts & culture in our communities! In 2019, we awarded a matching grant of $3,500 to Black Box Theatre Company, Inc. to enhance sound quality by purchasing a new sound board, bluetooth compatibility, speakers, projector, and wireless/hanging microphones. We love hearing the impact the new purchases have made on their performances!
Creative director Emily Wolfgang said, "We are so thankful for our new equipment and look forward to adding even more opportunities for performance and classes that would not be possible without the new enhancements in sound. Although our mission and spirit has not changed, we value the opportunity to reach more kids, audiences, and performers with these new improvements.”

Jr. Ensemble will pick one rehearsal time which they will then attend each week. Ensemble will pick one rehearsal time which they will then attend each week.
Once featured cast is decided, they will meet on a featured cast night and also be involved in the choir, on their off nights of the show, if they so choose. This means they would also come to the choir rehearsal time.

It's Theatre-a-Thon Time!!
Theatre-a-Thon 2022 is a two-week fundraiser concluding on Saturday, April 16th at 3PM. Students are encouraged to advocate for Black Box in their community to gain pledges and awareness for Black Box.
It is our goal to raise $15,000 during our 2022 Theatre-a-Thon. We hope every student will raise at least $100. Your contribution is a tax-deductible donation that will enable Black Box to continue at the level the families in our community have come to know and appreciate!

We are happy to announce our 2022-2023 Conservatory Season! We have a summer scene study and a mid-winter musical planned, and we can't wait to share them with you!
This summer we will have a scene study of the popular ‘80s movie “The Breakfast Club” available for high school students and '22 graduates. This show will provide 12 students with an amazing learning opportunity with an emphasis on characterization, realism, and emodiment of character. This is NOT licensed play or production and is strictly for education purposes.
**REGISTRATION OPENS MARCH 7**
In the winter, we will have auditions and begin rehearsals for the musical "Little Women." This show has roles for 10-20 high school students. Featuring a beautiful score, this show will give students an opportunity to sing AND act while focusing on connecting vocals with acting and finding meaning in lyrics.

Our next Conservatory class starts Tuesday! It isn't too late to sign up. This Acting Sampler is a great opportunity for high schoolers to experience several different skill sets and types of acting -- all in one class!
