Equipment Installation & Repair Technician

The technician will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing customers various
material handling equipment. Conduct overall inspections to verify the equipment is up to safety
standards and perform maintenance, repair, replacement, and troubleshooting as well as other
duties required per management. This opportunity represents Centex Material Handling and requires
professionalism, great attitude, good communication skills, and outstanding customer service.
Centex Material Handling will train the right candidate depending on skills/experience coupled with
willingness to learn.

Primary Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Follow all safety procedures in performing work as well as company policies
• Replace mechanical assemblies
• Be able to use all special tools properly
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Verify equipment is up to safety standards
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills
• Properly identify and order all necessary replacement parts
• Perform other duties as required per management
Physical Job Demands:
• Work environment will range from outside elements to climate controlled
• Must be able to lift 75lbs., stooping, squatting, pulling
• Examples of equipment installed/repaired: overhead cranes, conveyors, dock
equipment, pallet rack
• Shop environment: temperatures are variable with dramatic increase/decrease in
response to the seasons

Requirements (includes, but not limited to):

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Auto, truck, industrial, or military equipment repairs experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Has own hand tools (special tools provided by CMH)

Preferred:

• Military experience, welding, and trouble shooting skills
• OSHA 30 certified
• Overhead crane experience
• Read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial control systems
• 2 years’ experience working on material handling equipment or heavy industrial
equipment
