T H E ✨ D E S I G N :
The goal was to create a single page design that can be glanced at on your fridge or framed on your wall for monthly phase references. The cafe design was meant to set the tone for slowing yourself down and soaking up the earthly elements that are always working in conjunction with the lunar cycles. Monitoring the moon & celebrating her cycles is a luminary treat I vow to not disregard. Anyone who knows me, knows that I bask.

Underground Music Showcase weekend in Denver is always so damn special to me. Here’s a shot from day two of x3. FINALLY!!! 👽🤠🌵🐍 I haven’t created a new illustration (just for my own joy) in over a year. My creativity was unable to be expressed due to a saddened back-log of potential. BUT…I’m BACK, babay!!! Or at least I’m slowly but surely getting there…one day at a time.

Each of these boots was individually designed for tattoos for my lover and I. They turned out fu***ng adorable & individualistic and also complement one another as one cohesive design. My serpentine cowboy lover & his cactus alien queen… 😍

I wanted my forever-ink to express the key points of my individuality. My creativity, my alien obsession, my skilled plant nurturing ability & love for cacti, and my Midwestern Kansas roots all rolled into one.

You can expect some prints of the 1st image! 🙌

Our talented friend, Alex .tomassian did the technical inking with such finesse! I certainly struggled with the rib cage pain but it was an expected and welcome (?) pain.

So here I am sharing a bit of my heart with the world again, and it feels really good. It’s a bit of happiness & love-filled creativity in this hard and ever-uncertain world.

Ultimately, just kickin’ it. In this brief moment, at least.

I kept thinking of the movie “My Octopus Teacher” while I was drawing this. It’s such a moving documentary about the bond of a human who consistently visits an octopus every day of its life in the same ocean vicinity with a returned friendship from the oceanic creature. Octopi are the aliens of our ocean. There’s no doubt about that. I feel more intimately connected to octopi after sketching every little te****le and skin fold. 🥰😍 I typically don’t eat them because of how highly intellectual they are … but I would give this one a kiss and eat its mushrooms.

I got to play with a theme that is right up my alley … take a TRIP to outer space... a glimpse of natural intelligence overtaking artificial intelligence. A sign of fungus resilience over human existence. Or mushroom remedy aiding in human existence if we choose to succumb to the life-force fungi offers. 🌀🧠🌀
