Hey Scotland fans! You play powerhouse Brazil at 5:00pm today and you’re gonna need all the help you can get! To give you all a boost we are going to have bagpipes playing before your match arriving around 4:00pm!

Doors open at 1:30pm today as we are showing all six matches with sound!

We have had such an incredible two weeks with the arrival of the Algerian National Team and the start of the 2026 World Cup! Lawrence has completely embraced the sport and are fully backing and rooting for Algeria to have much success in the world’s greatest international sporting tournament!

For Monday’s match between Algeria and Jordan that kicks off at 10:00pm, we are respecting the customs and culture of our guests and are pulling the booze and alcohol from the Reserve side of the Red Lyon Tavern. We have procured a limited amount of Algerian sodas, tea, and coffee that will be available along with other NA selections and beverages for this unique evening to warmly welcome our Algerian friends who have traveled to Lawrence and Kansas City for the Cup!

Along with Algerian brands of drinks, food from our soccer loving neighbors Aladdin’s Cafe will be on hand to snack on. There will also be two prayers in the evening that will round out a cultural experience that we are very excited to be a part of that has never taken place in the 33 year history of our pub being opened thanks to the World Cup being right here in town!

This is why we take such delight in the game of soccer as it brings people and nations together with mutual passion and love for the sport. It is thrilling watching our city become part of many warming headlines welcoming the Algerian National Team and its supporters to Lawrence!

We’ll be open to the public tonight and Saturday at 8pm! Come get yourself a pint of Guinness or try a cocktail off our World Cup tequila drink list!

We will be open for the public tonight from 5-11pm just in time for Graduation Weekend! We do have a couple of private events this weekend, but we will also be ready to serve proper pours of Guinness throughout the weekend for anyone who would like to check out the Reserve if you haven’t had a chance yet!

The Red Lyon Reserve is reserved on Saturday from 4-7pm and Sunday from noon-3pm. After these private events conclude we’ll open and free to all to visit!

Join us for our first Cinco De Mayo celebration at the Red Lyon Reserve located directly adjacent to the Red Lyon Tavern! Along with cervezas and tequila, we will also set up a nacho bar to snack on! Feel free to bring a dish to add to the spread!

We’ll be pouring plenty of Modelo Especial on draught along with margaritas and cocktails made with Casamigos tequilas, the official tequila of the World Cup! We have put together four refreshing drinks that we will be debuting on Tuesday to be poured throughout the World Cup and all summer long!

Join us this Saturday for an exciting day of horse races at the Red Lyon Reserve, directly adjacent to the Red Lyon Tavern, as we host our first public party in our brand new, beautiful Massachusetts Street event space for the Kentucky Derby!

Dress up in your finest derby attire to impress, and you could be crowned the winner of our first annual Run For The Roses Derby Bash and walk out with a Red Lyon Tavern gift card! The top three outfits will be announced the winners shortly following the main race which has an official post time of 5:57pm!

Mint Juleps available crafted and muddled with fresh mint and simple, then topped with ice and either Four Roses Bourbon or mixed with our featured bourbon selection at the Red Lyon Reserve, Woodford Reserve! WR will also be used in our Premium Manhattans and Old-Fashioneds only available on the Reserve side of the Red Lyon!
