"I stand here today with a heavy heart, having lost not just a loyal companion, but a true hero. On this Veteran's Day, I want to honor not only my fellow service members but also the unsung heroes with fur and a heart of gold – our service animals.

My four-legged friend, my confidant, my partner in both triumph and struggle, you served alongside me with unwavering loyalty and unconditional love. Together, we faced the challenges that only those who have worn the uniform can truly understand.

As I reflect on this day, I salute the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation. I also pay tribute to the incredible service animals who stand by our side, offering comfort, support, and a bond that transcends words.

To those who have lost a service animal, I share in your grief. Today, we remember not only the sacrifices of our fellow soldiers but also the unique and profound contributions of our furry companions. They may have paws instead of boots, but their impact on our lives is immeasurable.
