The claims of corruption are not a conspiracy, this information is coming from verified political insiders. There are real genuine concerns with this facility that are not immediately obvious from the sales pitch. Yes, the money sounds good. Yes, the jobs sound good. But the people making these promises are being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to SELL you a product. The only difference between these folks and a salesman at Sisbarro GMC is the size of the car. The first Project Jupiter "Community Meeting" is in the books, and the people of La Mesa and Dona Ana County showed up to let these folks know they weren't going to be pushed around. County Commissioners need to pay attention. Last night, the people asked the hard questions and got nothing but vague wave-offs in return. Lots of "we want to...", "we hope to...", but no accountability. The county government is failing to do its job—they appear to be under-informed and jumping on the bandwagon, rushing a vote to approve without negotiating key guarantees.
