I think I will ask God why
for the rest of my life …

Searching for answers
that may never come

Though the pain of
your absence is profound,
I hold onto knowing
that one day,
understanding
will come,
and the reasons
will unfold

Until then I will
treasure the precious
time we had, and carry
you with me in my heart

Always cherishing the
impact you had on my life ~
and striving to live in a way
that honors your memory

When the time is right,

I’m not gone,
I’m here
right beside you
You can’t see me,
but I am here
I’ll never leave you

Since my son Ryan passed away
4 years ago, joining his brother
Michael on the other side,
I have been struggling

While I know the routine all
too well, it still overcomes me
and overpowers my thoughts
Guilt, the what ifs, the why’s,
denial… then more denial to
make it through the moment

I get irritated a lot lately
As I did 32 years ago when
Michael left this life

Today I’m at peace with Michael’s passing. I have been for many
years ~ While I still miss him,
I know we will be together again

When it’s my time

I feel Ryan nudging me these days~
I’m struggling not only with Ryan’s sudden passing, but my own
personal issues

He’s reassuring me that
everything always works out

Maybe not as we planned,
but for the best

Blessed with two boys in Heaven
guiding me, and a son and daughter
on Earth to keep me grounded

All the signs from Heaven are
always there …

Close your eyes and see

Forever
is a long time
to miss someone

Especially when
their absence leaves
such a lasting mark
on your heart

They say time
heals all wounds

But some absences
create such deep scars
in our hearts, that
time moving forward
only seems to
deepen our longing

Yet in this ache
there is comfort in
the small things ~
old pictures,
a familiar scent,
a song …
a connection that
existed on earth and
now in Heaven

To miss someone forever
is to keep a part of them
alive within us ,
to hold onto who they were
and what they meant to us

As life moves forward
you learn to carry
them with you,
not only in your thoughts
but in who you are

And so life goes on
New memories are made ~

Yet that special
place in your heart
always remains theirs

Forever is a long time,
but it also a testament
to the ever lasting
power of love

So much of me
left when you
did

It felt like a part of
my own being had
gone with you,
leaving me feeling
incomplete

A piece of my soul
had been ripped
out of me

I found myself
wandering
through memories …
grasping onto
pieces of
our time together

Memories filled my mind,
both comforting
and painful
all at once

A bittersweet reminder
of what once was

Yet in the midst of my grief,
I found comfort in the
thought that the love
we shared would forever
remain in my heart,
a soft reminder of
the precious
moments
we made

And though you
may be gone
from this earthly realm,
your presence lingers
in the depths
of my soul,
my guiding light
in the darkness.

Our love
transcends
boundaries,
even those of
time and space

Grief is
when your entire
world falls apart
and no one else’s life
changes

A journey like no other

Everything feels like
it’s crumbling around you ,
while the rest of the world
is moving forward …
as if nothing happened

Suddenly you’re all alone
in a roomful of people

My feelings of being alone
overwhelmed me at times

Yet I was the one
who isolated myself

When I did go out
in the world,
I felt as if I was
trying to climb on
a moving merry go round

It’s spinning faster and faster
and I feared falling

Grief is a natural part of life
I learned it’s ok to take the
time you need
There is no right or wrong

We are not alone
You are not alone

There are people who do care
and want to support you

Let them in

I took that leap onto the
merry go round
I fell …

But there were others
around who picked me up

I fell less and less
with the help of
loving hands
sent from Heaven

We don’t just miss the past
and the present,
we also miss the future

The future that will
never come to be ~

The future that we missed

We grieve not just for the
moments that have passed
and for the present void ,
but also for the dreams
and plans that now
remain unknown

Each day I find myself longing
for the laughter we won’t hear,
milestones we won’t celebrate,
and the quiet everyday moments

I find hope knowing in some way,
you are still with us , guiding us,
inspiring us and reminding us
that love goes beyond
time and space

And in that hope,
we find the strength
to move forward ,
one day at a time
